During the Great Flood the birds survived because they could fly above the water. They fed on fish primarily.

LOL yes of course they did, sniggers, birds flying continuously for forty days. All those robins and fly catchers eating fish....why not!! If all the land animals could get on one boat and eat....???? em not each other, well anything is possible.

GalahadReply toDrJamesRustles
Not many birds fly in a deluge, and the Flood IS called the Great Deluge because it went on for forty days and nights. Even if they did fly during the deluge, those birds would have gotten awfully tired before very long at all.

The animals got on Noah's boat 'according to their kinds' So one pair of wolves would have been enough to re-populate the Earth and produce the various types of canines. The birds on the Ark would return to it if there was no-where to land.

and all the fish would be dead as salt and fresh water combined

I see, creameggy. So one pair of apes would have been enough to re-populate the Earth and produce the various types of hominids. So Noah, as the last antediluvian, was some sort of ancestral "kind" to all the other apes, including modern humans. "Australopithecus noahensis" has quite a ring to it, don't you think?

creameggy, Bournemouth, United Kingdom: When you look at the myriads of animals, birds and bugs in the Americas, you naturally wonder how Noah got them to the Middle East. American bison, for instance, and grizzly bears and rattlesnakes and Bald eagles. Did he send a fleet of ships manned by a few thousand of his family to go collect them, driving them like cattle? Or did they just fly and hop to the Middle East, ignoring the Atlantic Ocean? From all over two continents that cover more than 16 million square miles, they were all moved by men to the Middle East. During the Late Stone Age or the Early Bronze Age. Then they and all the others were loaded on a ship more than twice the size of HMS Victory, in only 7 days. Then they were somehow returned to their natural habitats. As Mr. Spock would say, "That doesn't compute.".

Bones when buried can start looking very old very quickly. God created the earth and all the animals, plants and man precisely 6,147 years ago.

I don't think birds of prey would agree with you. They do like their meat. I thought birds survived because they left their eggs in the trees and not on the ground. Just as turtles and crocs survived because they buried their eggs under the ground.

Where do these scientists get their wild ideas from? Before the demise of the Dinosaurs there were Butterflies, Moths, and Dragonflies present on earth of Genera that are still extant. Butterflies and Moths feed in their larval form almost exclusively on vegetation they can't exist without it. Dragonflies in their adult state feed on other insects which are also frequently dependant on vegetation. To say that the early birds survived because they ate seeds is a fallacy. They also had a great range of insect life to feed on. Personally I don't think the Meteor impact theory really stands up to scrutiny, for the extinction of the Dinosaurs, far too many life forms survived that were reliant on plants

Just because the Bible is old that does not make it correct. In fact if you take the time to read it you'll find it riddled with errors, misinformation and self-contradiction. It was written by people with no understanding of the universe or the world around them so they simply made things up.

Genesis is always good for a laugh. How can you have days passing when the sun isn't created till the 4th day? The firmament is a solid roof over the world, stars are set into the firmament, and the moon is a light source....There's a couple to get you started from page 1.

What thick n indoctrinated fails to realise is the "were you there" argument is far more applicable to claims for which there is no evidence whatsoever, such as the miraculous claims of holy books on which the religions based on them hang. Believe in magic fruit, talking snakes, resurrection men and angels? Were you there?

Couldn't the meat eating birds have survived feasting on those millions of carcasses left over from the asteroid strike?
[ 0 ] [ 0 ]
First LlamaReply toroderik77
Take your meat out the freezer and see how long it remains edible.
[ 0 ] [ 0 ]
roderik77Reply toroderik77
First Llama, there are many creatures whose digestive systems allow them to feast on rotting carcasses. Some scavengers actually seek them out. If a carcass is covered in ash and dehydrated then such meat could last for months, if not years, thus allowing enough creatures to survive and start breeding again. After all, how did our mammalian ancestors survive that period?
[ 0 ] [ 0 ]
PaulCReply toroderik77
roderik77. 2/10, try harder.Rotting meat might last a few weeks at most. Omnivores can survive on food other than meat.
[ 0 ] [ 0 ]
roderik77Reply toroderik77
PaulC: Then how do you explain the very many bodies of dead creatures that lasted long enough to become fossilized, as well as their bones? The "meat" must have been dehydrated in an oxygen-free environment to last long enough for fossilization. Many fossilized dino eggs found in places like the Gobi Desert. Meat eaters can also survive by eating the seed eaters.

Dinosaurs didn't actually last very long. They appeared soon after some volcanoes went off in Russia and then they disappeared when a comet banged into Mexico.
