Okay, it's feasible to land it on the far side (and NO it's NOT the "Dark side"..... there IS no dark side), but how would we communicate with the device ?

There are people here who do not realise that there is a 'far side of the moon'. This is the state of modern education. Depressing, isn't it? Yes, the truth is that the moon is spin-stabilised with the earth, so the same face of the moon always points towards the earth.
