I am surprised that these cops in this country DID NOT shot him dead. They are much more strict than in our country. Go to Europe and try pulling the crap that some do over here and you'll find out how nice our cops truly are.[CN]
If your an armed copper facing an unarmed violent civilian, and you use a firearm to shoot and kill, you shouldn't be a copper. You're in the wrong job. You're skills should be that you use your own fists and baton to subdue, just like they do here in the UK.[CN]
He's lucky he wasn't in L.A. He'd get shot in an instant for doing that.[CN]
no unarmed drunk man deserves to be shot ,, for a few thumps to the police .. they do enough of it themselves ,,now stop talking nonsense . those american police are a disgace with what they do ,, they should act like men.[CN]
Take note US cops, they didn't shoot to kill him. He made a poor choice, will suffer the consequences but he still has his life.[CN]
What would you be saying if this dork landed a good punch on a cop and killed him! That happens all the time! Especially, when one guy is very large and a former Olympian! Once you take a swing on a cop (ever), you forfeit your rights![CN]
Across America the police arrest THOUSANDS of people every week. Many of those people are violent or resist arrest. The number of people shot by police in America is absolutely minuscule compared to the number of arrests they make. Just the other week we saw a video of an American police officer being kicked and beaten by members of the public while trying to subdue a violent suspect. Your smug generalisations are an insult to all the police officers in America who try to do their jobs professionally under difficult circumstances and who resist the urge to discharge their guns unless absolutely necessary.[CN]
@TH ... not every suspect is shot and killed in the U.S. What you are saying is that American cops should never take a life in the line of duty by using their firearms ... at least that is what I get from your comment.[CN]
@T.H.Hutchinson; Yes, they do. And so do the American police in the vast majority of cases. But the police in my country don't encounter situations involving firearms or deadly weapons with anywhere near the same frequency as the American police either; so the likelihood of our police needing to resort to deadly force, or feeling that they need to open fire in order to save their own lives, is far lower. And the reason your comment is smug is because it's a worthless and cheap generalisation which doesn't take account of the facts or context.[CN]
