Difference between Rugby and Football. In Rugby a lifetime ban. In football a slap on the wrist, paltry fine, fans scream and whinge it was the Referees fault, back playing in no time. Referee relegated to lower team games.

Do your research. No ref in the NFL has been punched and knocked out. In college, the player was ejected and arrested. But sure, a lifetime ban is worse than going to jail.

Yeah it could. It doesn¿t happen in League or Union, hence why it¿s so shocking. If you knew anything about the sport you'd know that even swearing at a ref will get you sent off/sin binned...unlike in football where the overpaid diva's do and say whatever they like with no respect for the ref. When they aren¿t rolling around for breaking a nail that is.
