And most of those horses will now get pressure sores if ridden. Great job. Clipping has its uses, to stop horses getting hyperthermia/colic, while cooling down and drying from sweaty exercise in cold months. But this makes these proud animals nothing but fashion accessories.

That's so intricate, the poor horse must have had to stand still for hours :(

It's shaved into the hair, it doesn't hurt it and it will grow out again. It's not like it's carved into the skin.

Please tell me how this is okay for horses without cushings. Is it purely for vanity?

Horses are often clipped in the winter if they do a lot of work as they get too hot, then their hair gets saturated with sweat which means they go cold quickly after. Clipping the hair off stops this happening, and they wear thick warm rugs when they are not working.

Poor horses.

It looks like animal cruelty. Ridiculous. The animal should be in the wild.

Yes, free to starve, to fall ill and go untreated, fall victim to predators etc.

standing so close to a horses rear, could have dire consequences should he devide to kick out ...not a good place to be.

Wrong! You should either stand very close or a long way away. It is inbetween where the most danger lies. Staying close prevents the horse get a good swing, so you might get kicked but it won't do as much damage. In any case you would only stand directly behind if you trust the horse, which in this case she clearly does.

I can stand directly behind my horse and scratch his bum. I trust him and he trusts me.
