'Please don't leave me, I beg you!' Man filmed crawling on the street clinging to his girlfriend in a desperate bid to stop her from dumping him

This was certainly the case for a man in China who was filmed crawling on the ground and begging his girlfriend not to leave him, reports the People's Daily Online. [CN]

据人民日报报道，这个真实事件发生在中国，一名男子被拍到趴在地上央求女友不要离开。

His girlfriend is seen slapping him in the face several times while trying to make a quick getaway as he continued to grip her tightly.[CN]

她的女友掌掴了男子几巴掌始终没有挣脱他的死缠烂打。

In the footage, the man can be seen on the floor in the middle of a street.

The incident reportedly took place in Huai'an city, east China's Jiangsu province.

Passersby can be seen watching the event unfold. 

The man has grabbed the woman's legs so hard that her tights have fallen down and one of her shoes has come off. 

The woman tries to wrestle free from the man but he continues to grab hold of her. 

She begins to shout at him saying: 'Let go. Don't you feel disgraceful?' 

The woman becomes so fed up with the situation that she starts to hit him. 

He begs her saying: 'Please don't leave me'. 

She tells the man that they can't be together anymore. 

But he still continues to grip hold of her. 

It's unclear when the woman manages to break free from the man.

People have been discussing the footage on China's social media site Weibo. 

Many people have criticised the man for his actions.  

'Gan xiao ming' commented: 'There are other fish in the sea.'  

'Xi guan you ni 90942' said: 'He can't beg to get together like this. He needs to have backbone.'

While 'Ju you jing' wrote: 'This is not affectionate. This is ill.'

However others have said the woman is cold towards the man in the video. 

'1840393445' commented: 'This woman is cold. Might as well just let her go.' 

And some users seemed to be paying more attention to the onlookers in the background.

One such user named 'Hei mao de ling gan' said: 'The couple in the background must feel lucky that they didn't find a girlfriend.'
