Surely he should be charged by the police. Why do people think that because it happens on a pitch the police should not be involved. We all know Rugby is a sport where this happens, but the code is that it only happens between players. When he subsequently hit the opposing rugby player it was not much of an issue but a referee is bang out of order.

'Red mist madness' are you completely insane or just another member of a pathetic society that increasingly believes there is always an excuse for even the most outrageous behaviour? Mind you your attitude would solve the overcrowding problems of UK prisons because all inmates could be released as they simply had a 'bad moment' when they committed the crime.
