the same people who try to promote gay marriage have tried to make Sparta and Lesbos and even alexander the great all about gay things, and invented the word lesbian, so that you don't know Israel was controlled by Greece for 300 years before rome took it for 600.

the Persian words for family are the same as latin ones........ mama, brother.

Did anyone of you americans already ask yourselves why USA is the only industrialised country that never bet on a highspeed interstate rail system?

Well, I dont have a clue myself, but looking at the powerfull oil industry it seams to me that they may have a very good lobby in USA.

On the other front, does anyone understand why is the USA doing everything to jeopardize her very own interests by having this guerrila type of war with countries like Russia,Iran and China just to mention a few?

The USA just defrost billions of Iranian dollars frozem by the sanctions and now what we see.....they are spending it bying fighter jets and missile systems from the Russians and all other type of hardware from China....where I am they call it to kill the golden egg chiken....

Iran's president said in an interview in the French press that the market is open to all Americans and American companies. But America itself is an obstacle to getting American companies to Iran. And laws in America should be improved. America senators and representatives in the Senate and Congress who are deceived by propaganda, Israel and Saudi Arabia to prevent become constructive relations between Iran and America.

It sounds harsh but the US is bogged down by its relation with Israel, which China has managed to avoid, that has led to our involvement in the area. Iran can now use China when the west clamps down on it. China did not recognize the world sanctions on Iran but didn't do direct business with them either, outside of oil products. Eventually, China will be forced into using diplomacy in areas where it does business. The fatal trap for Americans business is depending too much on China for production there of goods sold here. Just to save money and for profits, moving production there has left us more and more subject to disaster should China begin to hedge US trade with relations to the middle east.

Trains should be used more in Asia. Seeing trucks from Kazakstan in Europe is absurd.

A useless commercial undertaking. Only politically it makes sense. Only the Chinese and Iranian rails are of international gage. Others in between that were parts of the defunct Soviet Union use the wide Soviet gage. To the south all were part of the British Empire, and use the even older wider British gage. So neither India-Pakistan-South Asia, nor the countries of Central Asia or Russia are accessible to Iranian or Chinese trains. Everything has to be brought down, and reloaded at the borders into new trains, several times. No wonder it two two weeks or time to travel what should have taken only 5 days and night. The train locomotive in the picture is an Iranian one, because no Chinese train could have used the rails in between and get to Iran. Sorry history buffs. Politics got there first

[ 0 ] [ 0 ]
davidReply togrower

that is a good point! unloading and re-loading the containers is fine but reloading the loose goods takes time and man-powers. why does the gage is different?

Britain uses Standard Gauge 4' 81/2". They have not used the 7'1/4" Broad Gauge since the late 1888's

It takes 2 weeks to travel which is still 30 days shorter than by sea. This is just beginning, if the route proves useful chinese will probably build better trainways and roads. Just recently china signed mega projects to build trade coridor thru other asian countries, so they are serious about expanding their reach. Watch out US.

Chinese are smart, getting market share, but the stupid people in Congress and Senate are not! Iran is a rich country and Americans can improve their economy by getting market shares from others in Iran.

Maybe some friendly and peaceful mood will be established on European and Asian continents, let's hope USA will not show up and try to blow everything off as usually. USA is like a rat always showing its nose from under somewhere and trying to bite everybody, stay on your continent and mind your own business. If someone is doing good it does not mean you must blow it off!

*The Silk Road derives its name from the lucrative trade in Chinese silk carried out along its length, beginning during the Han dynasty (207 BCE – 220 CE).

*During the last 22 years of his [Muhammad (610–632)] life, beginning at age 40 in 610 CE, according to the earliest surviving biographies, Muhammad reported revelations that he believed to be from God, conveyed to him through the archangel Gabriel (Jibril). Muhammad's companions memorized and recorded the content of these revelations, known as the Qur'an

*WIKIPEDIA

Well would you take a gander at those ancient dates. Why it seems everything old is new again. Ain't life GRAND!

It takes more cooperation of various nations than it did before.

China , like imperial Japan before it views itself as the dominant power in Asia. It abhors American diplomatic, economic and military coercion in Asian affairs. It does not fear an nuclear Iran and was the power behind the nuclear "deal" which exited the US out of the region. It armed the Iranians with the modern stealthy shore to ship missiles that made the Persian Gulf a death trap for the big capital ships of the US Navy. Obama lost the strategic chess match and withdrew. China views Iran not as a threat but as a source of oil and gas and its seventy five million citizens as a market for its export oriented economy.

Except China has not invaded any other country and is building Africa. Their soft power approach is effective and morally right. Instead of destroying Iran it should help grow it's economy.

They don't fear Iran because China has never done anything bad to them. Not many countries hate China, they don't interfere with foreign policy or go around the world trying to over throw governments.

Johnny. Your reviewed of china foreign policy is ridiculously untrue and poor judgement. You are either a Chinese, a ProChinese, or someone that lives in Middle East. Take a look at the South east Pacific, China claimed all the sea beacause the sea, simply, called south China sea. It ignored the International Laws by building its own man made on disputed islands. It took lands from other countries by forces. (Do research on China grabbed lands from Vietnam and Philippines). It is trying to do the same to India. Your study on China is poor.

China wasn't the mentor in Vietnam, that was the USSR. North Korea was their attempt to keep the US out of China, but eventually would have led to some sort of combat along the Korean border had they not invaded in 1950. North Vietnam (at the time) and North Korea (since 1945) are considered buffer zones by China. China invaded Vietnam in 1979 mostly to let them know who was boss in the area.

@Johnny, How many wars has the US started? The Revolutionary War, War of 1812, the Civil War. Iraq War 2, Afghanitan. That's 5. We didn't start WW1, WW2, the Vietnam War (which was really just a continuation of the French losing in Indochina), or the Korean War

How many wars has China started? Well, as they record battles going to back to the 26th century BCE, it's likely to be a great deal more than 5. You don't want to go there

Iran is highly into its opium products. The old trade routes were used mostly for opium . Currently, Afghanistan is the number one opium producing country in the world, and not by choice. By US military enforcement and protections. oops. Now look at your geography maps. Guess who wanted to take over Iran . Just to the west past Iraq, Jordan ( where ISIS was trained) Syria,(currently under a siege) , and Palestine. OK , so Israel is the obvious destination. On the Israeli side there is nothing but death and destruction, and death and construction in occupied Palestine. While on the China /Iran side there is peace and prosperity for anyone who has a pipe.

For trading this breakthrough is awesome and salute for China's engineers. This new route hits Trans Siberian route as the longest one before: 9,288 km. It's extreemely dangerous for the terrorism and the viruses (kind of H1N1). As matter of fact, Mediterranean countries are the nest of terrorism.

Every administration in the last fifty years has been actively helping corporations move manufacturing and (therefore) well paying jobs out of the US (Obama the king of free trade has recently given us the TPP). GE and GM and Caterpillar...all gone. Detroit, once a shining star of American entrepreneurship and capitalism, is now a bombed out shell of it's former self. So, thanks to NAFTA and the normalization of trade relations with China, we have empowered countries like China. But now, since we shipped all the well paying jobs out of the US, we Americans are being forced to cut back spending. So to sell their slave-factory wares, they turn to places like Iran. Further empowering enemies of the US. All so a small % of Americans who own stock could make more money.

The real good paying jobs are in the IT fields, where the entrance threshold is low (most IT jobs requires a high school education of maybe a 3 to 4 year college and then just a few months training). Most of these jobs are now going to india. Americans can do this much better. Outsourcing to india is cheaper ONLY IN NAME. Indians workers' salary is lower but their efficiency is much much lower and their quality really sucks.

Micro - the point was, moving factories out of the US for profits is not in the interests of the US or the average American. Just go on Wikipedia "List of General Motors Factories" and look at the factories closed in the US and WHEN they were closed. Sine 1994 GM has closed over 30 US factories. Not to mention that GM is only ONE of the MANY companies who have been systematically moving production out of the US.

Military conquest is an economic negative. Short term gains like stopping Euros from being used to buy Iraqi oil, are outweighed by consequence like the Iraqi army becoming ISIS and renewing the Islamic civil war. The rule of the US oil/military/industrial complex Eisenhower warned about is coming to a close. It will be costly and painful for America.

I think Islamic civil war may have been the objective all along.

When Iraq agreed to sell oil to Europe for Euros, it made short term economic sense to back the petro $. Islamic civil war was just a bonus.

You have € 200 billion trade volume with Germany and for Germany is obliged 50MilliardenEuro buy the Chinese waste a year and distributed in 1Euro loaders, trying to sell. Chinese behave as a world power America, because Americans want to sell their disease-causing foods and beef in Europe, so that we all as Americans and Chinese have the same inferior genes and just be Nondurable.

I guess an easy way to arm Persia! Main Land China will load those trains of missile tanks and everything they have in their arsenal in less than five years Persia will be a super economy power they are going to invest in modernization education and reinforce their armed forces, they are very intelligent people they will be working for the future. I am happy because a war was avoided and our soldiers won't have to fight and die for other people that do not fight they are good agitators and when the rockets start falling they are like marathon runners, running fast into bunkers!
