If you took all the pieces of what is believed to be fragments of 'The Cross' and glued them together you would have a piece of wood as large as a Californian Giant Redwood Tree. Religion is Baloney, but Buddhism is more of a way of life.davo
It had the inscription " I can't believe it's not Buddha " . One born every minute !mike
Unattachment. I doubt the Buddha's followers would have put his remains in such a box, to save them, keep them, as his teaching was unattachment,UltraScarlet
I'm puzzled why the archaeologists are surprised to find some of the remains of Siddhartha, and other important monks relics, within the temple. It is well chronicled that after cremation the Buddha's remains were shared and housed within stupas over a wide area. I wonder what he would make of all the fuss? The Buddha once said, "Do not worship me, I am just a man"...DaenerysReply toUltraScarlet
There's a lot of fake Buddha quotes on the net. Actually, in the Dona Sutta scripture, a priest asks the Buddha: "Are you a god?" The Buddha says no. The priest asks: "Are you a man?" Again, the Buddha says no. Then when asked: "what kind of being are you?" The Buddha replies, "Just like a red, blue, or white lotus ¿ born in the water, grown in the water, rising up above the water ¿ stands unsmeared by the water, in the same way I ¿ born in the world, grown in the world, having overcome the world ¿ live unsmeared by the world. Remember me, brahman, as 'awakened.' "
