Man jailed for months over $5 theft found dead in cell

The family didn't get him the help he needed so why put this off on the sheriff and his deputies

My heart goes out to you. Our son was in jail and same thing happened to him.He had a heart condition and he called his dad the nite before he died asking us to get a hold of his lawyer to see if he could get him some medicalhelp cause they would,nt do anything for him.We get a call the next day that he died.He was 42yrs young with 3 young children.God bless

what im seeing none of these mothers gave two flying flips about their thug sons until they thought there was money to be had.no baby daddy,and when the they got too old for a check no baby momma

Need some common sense here. At some point his incarceration would reach the maximum for the $5 theft and he should have been released at that point in time.

How many White, Asian, Hispanic,Pacific Islander, etc have died this week because they didn't get the mental help they needed ??? The media are the ones singling out the Black race and stiring the pot!

$5 theft and no bail. I think there is more to the story than we are hearing.

Kendall said it just as it is. His parents or guardian never gave him the medical care he needed. Now he committed a small crime, dies in jail, and now they want answers!!! In other words, they want to throw the blame on someone else.

Why in hell are we trying to fix the world when we are such a mess ourselves????????????

When I became a US citizen, 55 years ago, I could not wait to tell the world. Now I ashamed to say it.
No wonder a bully like Trump is the most popular candidate for 2016.

This is NOT unusual, our jails are full of people with mental illness. This reminds me of the case of Sean Levert in Ohio who hallucinated and died after being denied "prescribed" medication. There supposedly was a law being passed to prevent this based on Sean's case. There is no excuse for it, it is inhumane and a shame that mental illness is considered a "CRIME!"

THE JAILERS SHOULD HAVE SUBDUED THE INDIVIDUAL AND FORCE FED HIM HIS MEDICATIONS JUST LIKE A MENTAL INSTITUTION WOULD

Come on!!! If he had received the help he needed he wouldn't have broken the law in the first place?!?!?! I am sick of giving excuses for breaking the law. A wise woman once taught me "You must control them in the highchair or the law will control them for you" I see truth in this.

After reading these posts I am appalled that society is permitted to decide its a racial thing (another black man dies) yet when others use that same leverage they are considered bigots...? really? When in this world do we go to basic common sense ...if you steal, rob, or take what does not belong to you ...then your a criminal ( I don't care what color you are, ) its why we have civilized laws for all to follow....its only when we find that one group is doing it more then others we place blame on race. In reality, we need to out law Criminals!. No matter what color... but then again politicians get special treatment when violating laws ....or famous people .... not the same treatment... and who made those laws... yep the politicians!
