So sad to see this in a fantastic area of Europe. Sign of the times we live in unfortunately.

They actually look really cool, I think it's the red berets. Can not be much fun for the soldiers wearing boots and carrying all that kit in that heat though.

This will be the norm throughout Europe soon, followed by the UK

They were actually already there earlier this year - large groups of them stationed at every market place and public square with their weapons at the ready. Quite a menacing contrast compared to previous relaxed visits.

I would rather be surrounded by security than without! I visited Paris last week and security was tight. It made me feel safe.
