A beautiful event and a reminder how more people knowing how to sign could make people with hearing problems more at ease and a bigger part of society - and give greater satisfaction to those with hearing and who could sign ! It would be a win-win for both. Now lets have a look on Google and YouTube - bound to be some info on them.... .

this article reminds me those recent south park episodes where ads have become so disguised that people can no longer tell if it a legit article or an ad. obviously this a very slickly done ad disguised as an article. it is amazing how many people do not realize these are actors.

BSL should be taught in schools instead of French, far more use in this day and age.

Heartwarming story, but DM headline described her as 'a deaf girl,' thus setting her apart from other girls. Better yet, 'a girl who is deaf.'

when i was a boy i always wanted to be tinkerbell.

Such a crying shame that signing is not officially recognised by the authorities in Britain. My sister signs, as she is a charity official in the East Midlands, and spent several years learning the art, and so does my brother, who works with disadvantaged children in foster homes. Its about time that signing is recognised for the communicative skill it brings.

My wife is a nursery nurse and it is standard practice that they must learn and sign to all the children with everything they do.
