The Americans have already flown a hypersonic aircraft, with an engine that was designed in Queensland Australia. So it will be sometime before the Russians or any other nation catch up.

So this plane will be able to cruise at well in excess of 15000mph? This is about ten times the speed of the present day fastest aircraft but it will be necessary to reach anywhere on earth within 2 hours as according to the article. Seems a bit too much of a leap to me.
