Well I'm guessing live stick had to have been going missing for them to presume this snake was responsible, so are they just going to kill all snakes until they find one with animal remains in it? It's easy to judge and say they're wrong to kill it but their livestock is their livelihood or their next meal, they will see it as justified in protecting it

Eggs are a delicacy...farmer sees huge belly pretends it's his livestock and decides it's a perfect excuse to kill it so he can sell eggs for profit would be a better headline.
