@astro, the counter arguments have already been stated in the many posts above. There are numerous scripts in east asia that put other branches of martial arts equal or above shaolin, including e’mei, wu tang style. the reason these branches don’t get as much exposure in the west is because they aren’t affiliated with any religions such as buddhism (where shaolin is affiliated to). Any chinese would tell you e’mei (峨眉）, wu tang (武当), and others were the origin of different branches of martial arts in China. to say that an indian called Bodhidharma started or even significantly influenced various major branches of chinese martial arts is simply ridiculous. Up til now you still couldn’t provide any evidence that Bodhidharma were the origin and started all major branches of chinese major martial arts, i just have to say this whole “indian started chinese martial arts” is just another one of those lies started by your indian government/press and right up there in the same league of trash as “1 in 5 ____ are indian, 1 in 3 _____ are indian” type of claims. if you want blame someone, blame your so called “pretend-to-be democratic” government/“free” press who’s only freedom is freedom to make up exaggerations and lies.

Have you heard of Culture-fair IQ test? The IQ testing scale should be culturally fair, otherwise it would be biased. The IQ scales are suited for western person and that is why they score well. I have met many western people in my field. From my experience, I can say that Indians in my profession are much knowledgeable and smarter than their western counterparts despite having less exposure. Similarly, many Indians with professional degrees who migrate to developed countries because they don’t manage a job in India, do exceptionally well in the migrated countries. I can say that Indians are superior brain. The only fault with Indian is that they are very very corrupt people. If they can fairly utilize their superior brain and IQ very soon they will rule the world. Thanks

And the inventor of radio is Nikola Tesla, not Marconi or the so called (unknown) Indian like he claims. Do less well in what? Immigrants to Western countries from South Asia seem do pretty well. Maybe South Asians aren’t as smart as East Asians but they can perform to a level similar to East Asians in immigrant communities.

So there you have it. Indians are present in these fields and not absent as the above posters seem to claim. There are many smart Indians as well as other South Asians. East Asians are more smarter admittedly but this isn’t a competition.

The East Asian commentators here (who I do not believe represent the East Asian population at large—from my experience the normal Chinese person is quite nice and affable) seem to build their pride in the denigration of South Asia. Their claim to a better IQ they think is rendered moot if even the slightest hint of respect is given to their neighbours to the South. Highly racist they are brimming with vitriol and bank on the popular images of India as a country of beggars to scoff and laugh. But such a defensive nature begs the question, what do they find so threatening?

I have already said Hun Chinese will score less than western norms but I am not sure about the exact range because the Chinese whom I have seen in USA or In my native Kolkata don’t represent the average of entire China but even if I keep standard deviation in my mind it will be somewhere around 90-95…certainly not more than that but Japanese should have Median above western avg but we need a more tangible analysis for both India,china or East Asia because couple of cities or states don’t represent the entire nation which has different social and economic variance.
