I feel there is a likeness between M.rkel et H.tler. Look at the eyes of the WW2 mass killer

Oh, propaganda is so pretty, isn't it?

Perhaps if it wasn't glorified so much there'd be less of it.

War is horrendous, but sometimes it is essential to avoid regime change. The courage and self sacrifice generally shown by both sides is noble. Though one side is often delusional (ISIS).

Tying someone's hands behind their back and cutting their head off. Putting someone in a cage and setting fire to them. Throwing someone off a building. Yeah, really courageous, that.

And what we learnt?! Nothing! The world and humans are still as hateful as ever. There is so much hate against others, it's a wonder the human race has survived this long. So called religious people love their books of wisdom and knowledge, yet never actually apply any of it. The next 100 years will just be the same, if not worse.

What does that have to do with these wonderfully colour-restored photos?

Johneke; and your comment puts that hatred on full display. Hope comes from people that can see beyond human frailties rather than those who lament them.

Perhaps you concentrate too much on your little world in Australia.

As a photoshop artist I spend my spare time doing volunteer work restoring photographs from disaster areas. Water, fire damage is usually what I restore - and often that's all people have left of their houses and memories so every photo is important to them. I get these photos are important to history but spending hours and hours restoring photos of Royalty - for what purpose? I think they have quite a large collection already and I don't think they will even say thanks - lol.

The EU didn't put a stop to the warmongers coming of out of your country, bombing innocent men women and children. Some of us have long memories, and will take no advice from the Irish when it comes to keeping the peace.

Look at this way Odumbo. If a basketball team selects a captain the opposing team does not get to say he cannot be the captain and force a new one. Understand now?

If this was a basketball game and not the future of the United States of America we are talking about, then yes Gretchengund, you might have a point.

The picture of the refugees sitting on the railway tracks could have been taken today, little has changed, except nationality & sympathy turned to disdain.

Sydneysider58Reply toRia
That and the French soldier being shot really moved me too. Looking at those 2 families (?) beside the railway line, and trying to picture the cold and misery was so moving. As you say, it could be today - she brought history to life.

YorckReply toRia
Except that the number of economical migrants amongst those refugees was zero. Except that these refugees were women, children and the elderly, since all the men were either in captivity or dead. Polish nationalists and the Red Army were no laughing matter

RiaReply toRia
Yorck - have you seen what's happening in Syria, there're not fleeing for economic reasons most of them had good jobs & homes, hundreds of thousands of women & children have already been killed they didn't even make it to refugee status but rest assured there are thousands of them in the camps.

TruthtellerReply toRia
Because these people were from the same cultures as we were and we had a duty to help them. No one expected the Middle East to step up and help them. The refugees we are expected to help now should be helped by countries whose culture reflects them and should not be our responsibilty. We are not the worlds protector.

Then USA has been in a perpetual war for more than 20 years. Show us some recent pictures of service men and women signing up to fight for a country that continually throws them under the bus. You served? Awesome, now wait in line for years to get medical help, because well you don't matter anymore. See the politicians would have been happier if you got blown up. Costs less. However, now that you're alive and kicking surviving multiple tours in a hellhole, you're a burden to them.

Al-Coppon known to be a Scar face in the re-brushed photo there were no scar which is falsification of History. Beside original always tell true Historic time frame. These photo may be look nice but does not gives true historic account.

highlandtigercubReply toC Robert
try looking at the picture properly, You can clearly see the scar on his left cheek.
[ 0 ] [ 0 ]
JanReply toC Robert
I'll try to explain simply - every feature that is on the original image is still on the colourised version. Nothing is "airbrushed". The technique effectively puts layer upon layer (blended, toned, tweaked until right) of translucent colour over the image. If there was a scar - it will still be there.

Earth is not a proper name for this planet. A really appropriate name would be 'planet trouble'. I sure if there are aliens out there, that's what they call it.
