Another recycled article. Unpopular comment of the year award but DM just reposts the same articles every 5 weeks as if we have dementia.

And news clips in 4000k and 7:2 surround sound. If nothing else, it'll look and sound great as we're annihilated.

I colourise World War I photos. It is quite easy (not an incredible skill) with Photoshop and using images from the internet for for sample colours. All you need is patience, something people don't have these days.

Can't we go back to these times? Without the fratricidal wars.

Anybody watching the Somme over the last 3 weeks wiil see how useless Douglas Haig was and the amount of deaths of soldiers down to his tactics died . HE should be discredited from the battle of the Somme.

FlatsoReply toJules
On the contrary he should be mentioned every time the Somme is mentioned so that we all remember what he did and his part in the death of all those soldiers.

Flatso or Norwich . I did not think I would get a reply but I am so pleased . Whilst he sat in his big Chateau men under his control died in mud and for me he will always be remembered as a failure who didn't have a clue .

I have a family history website and often have a go at colourising old B & W photographs. But I can tell you from experience that many of these old photographs are virtually impossible to colourise due to being too faded, grainy or having shadows all in the wrong places.Obviously these photos have been chosen for their clarity, some almost appear to be 3D so the artist has an advantage to start with to be able to enhance them with colour.

Yes - I colourose too. And of course she has picked the better quality images. Why wouldn't she?

Great pictures but the third one of the French soldier at Verdun is a known fake. It was posed for a french photographer. Most of what are claimed to be WW1 action films and photographs of soldiers attacking were posed after the events

My Pointless ViewsReply toObserver1951
That's hardly the point, the colourisation is the topic here, not the authenticity of the photos.

The queen is sitting, not "sat" unless someone put her there. Stop writing this every time someone is sitting somewhere.

Totally agree. Saying someone is "sat there" is one of the worst abuses of English language that I know of.

Good leaders bring peace and prosperity. Bad leaders bring war and destruction. Some good leaders get dragged into wars by bad leaders. The enmity is between the leaders of the nations, not between the peoples. The soldiers on both the sides are not enemies of each other but they k-i-l-l each other. The ultimate losers in a war are the soldiers who lose their lives, the near and ear ones of the dead soldiers who have to live with the trauma for the rest of their lives and the ordinary people who have to bear the miseries of the war. The leaders live in fortified walls and roam with high security and will continue to enjoy life.
