Sir Norton Canes
These pictures look terrific, even more realistic than contemporary World War Two colour prints. More please DM.

Very clever!!

Fascinating pictures but have to laugh at DM captions. I don't think that "(in the hat at right)" is necessary when Jack Ruby is the only one in the photo with a gun.

She is really helping to bring the past to life by updating these powerful images. Well done to her and the DM for showing them to us.

The colorizing somehow makes all these historical photographs feel more contemporary. The very first one of the two American soldiers almost looks modern. Wonderful job, really enjoyed all the pics

Inanely brilliant. ... and the patience required to do just one of the "easiest" photos I would not have. Go Girl, Go!

In fairness to DM, this is something they do regularly and always extremely well. This will not be their last set of historical pics linked by a theme, and thank goodness. You'll notice every time they do it, they get accolades in the Comments section. So - give the credit when it's due.

More of this please! Never mind all these trashy articles. This is fascinating and I'm sure everyone wants to see more!

These are not just colourised photographs, they are works of art. Pictures like these can bring history to life.

These are incredible. It's like you are really there, right in those moments. Lincoln especially, very well done.

For a man who's only 54 in the photo, Lincoln looks like he'd had a really, really hard life.

Well yes, he did have a hard life, beginning with the death of his mother early on. By the time that photograph was taken he'd led the country through a traumatic war and the deaths of two of his three sons. Every crease on that face was hard earned.

and educative, in contrast to ' a bloke , 40, owner of a 300,000 worth hovel fell into an open manhole and was eaten by a croc floating in the sewer canal right below '
