Cool. Maybe one day she can teach her grandfather how to say "Grab Her By The ***" in mandarin tooParade
What luck. After ten years of fighting to allow his names on his buildings in China, China approved it the day he was elected. Awwww. Trump will sell U.S. Out to benefit his pocketbook and it started with Ivanka hocking trump branded bracelets on national tv after the election. These people are so vulgar and crude can't help laughing.Malcolm Ritchie
There's a world of difference between being able to recite a poem in a fore.ign language - and actually being able to hold a conversation in it. Just as being able to make the noises that we recognise as the numbers 1 to 10 doesn't make a 5 year old a mathematical genius or even competent in it. What we've just witnessed is a 5 year old child being dressed up in suitable Benet-style garb to win the plaudits of a doting audience....not for her benefit....but to earn brow.nie points for her politician granddfather. Who in God's name uses innocent children in such a transparent effort of manipulation. And they say the days of the "Good Ship Lollipop" are gone.stripey49
you can have all the money in the world but without class, taste and respect YOU HAVE NOTHINGMalcolmRReply toauxpowerunit
Biggest problem with that accusation is that the notion of being "turned" into a Mancurian Candidate is that it occurred while being held as a PoW during the likes of Korea or Vietnam. Unfortunately, Trump found himself "previously engaged" - on the FIVE occasions his attendance was requested - and so missed out on that threat. In any case, he holds PoW's in utter disrespect in any case, so it would be unfair to criticise him on that score. Who knows.....maybe someone can mint him a gold-plated Purple Heart just to placate his disappointment. A bigly one you understand.MalcolmRReply toauxpowerunit
You and I might "translate" what he says as "big league". But the general convention in such things is that you can actually hear the last syllable of the word. In Trump's case you can't. Not in any example of it I've ever heard. Rather like suggesting that when we hear "vay" he's actually saying "vague". And sure it was flat feet. On all 5 occasions? How many times and how many doctors does it take to come to that conclusion - and go to the bother of actually writing it down for future reference.yellowblob
Sorry didn't really get a word she says and I speak fluent mandarin. Chinese are suckers for western people speaking mandarin though.mike
Just another example of how Donald Trump, his family, and his supporters are just low-class, uneducated, illiterate, vulgarians. That is sarcasm for those who don't recognize it. Thank you to Arabella for her recitation of the poem in Mandarin. I, unlike the NeverTrumpers at NRO who think we all are worthless garbage, am impressed.mikeReply tomike
To JAF1981 - That's my point. The Trumps and their supporters are the smart ones. We knew what our nation needed, start with borders (no borders means no country), respect for the law and our Constitution... and Donald Trump was both intelligent enough to know this, and brave enough to say so. The writers at some of our so-called conservative magazines, staffed with #NeverTrumpers, called Trump and his supporters names that expressed their total disgust with all of us. The words I used are their words. They continue to attack now, focusing on Steve Bannon who they are lying about. My point is that being even interested in Chinese poetry, let alone learning to recite it, is a wonderful example of who the Trumps are. They are educated and literate. We are very fortunate that these are the people who won the election.haradin
So everything he said on the campaign like tariff on goods from China and to stop outsourcing jobs there is just locker room talk.KM32082Reply toharadin
China is one of our biggest competitors. Don't you think it's Smart to know as much about them, their language, culture, politics, etc as possible?!?! Know thine enemy seems like a pretty good stance in this situation. Hopefully, with knowledge comes power. Even more hopefully, with knowledge will come some kind of balance between the two countries.
