I agree on children learning other languages. Communication is very important. I recommend the language they learn should be associated with their family plus other languages. EXAMPLE: My father is Italian and I should have been taught Italian and another language and English should be the primary language.

Don't be ridiculous, Mires. I'm a Trump supporter. I was born and raised in Miami and hearing Spanish was a fact of life. Most of my childhood friends were Cuban. However, I think English should be the official language of the USA, and why shouldn't it be? Did you know that of the 198 nations in the world only 8 have no official language (including the US and UK)? I hope Trump addresses this during his presidency. I'd be interested in hearing from some Brits on whether they think the UK should make English the official language.

It can be found in almost every single city somewhere, from border to border and ocean to ocean. .... Most people actually don't give a second thought to overhearing Spanish in the States it is just that common..... I think you have your left confused with your right. Seriously...this is a really bizarre comment. I've only heard the right say people should "speak English!" while the left has praised the achievement of speaking more than one language (and acknowledged the difficulty) and tried to have language integrations in the schools while the right fought against it. I taught in the US, so I'm quite familiar.
