A Boeing 777 plane suddenly got into the zone of strong turbulence before starting to descend

Why did the electronic equipment not pickup turbulence? For all those people Saying should had seat belts on remember that next time you need to go to the toilet mid flight or get something out of the lockers and think of the crew it's not a large amount of people who have been injured compared to the carrying capacity so maybe those people had been doing just that

I always kept my belt fastened during flights and my adult daughter always unfastened hers and laughed at me ..She won't listen when I ask her to keep the seat belt on .... bet she will now!!!!

This is a good reminder of what could happen for all of us, regardless how safety conscious you are things like this still happen.

Thank god it was a Boeing and not one of their Tupolev aircraft or I feel we would be reading a totally different story all together!

Seatbelts?

Have been to Thailand and some of the flights have been nerve-wracking. Extreme turbulence and limited information from the captain leaves the passengers scared. That was Thai Airways.

Clear Air Turbulence is always a problem......if it is NOT REPORTED Previously by any other flight in the area.....Other wise it's always nice to be cautioned before and during a Flight to Stay in your seat with seat belts fastened!!!!!!....I'm always SUSPICIOUS of people who Stroll around the cabin at 35,000 feet and Note, the Russians are finally Flying descent Equipment, "If it ain't Boeing, I ain't going"!!!!!!

Here come the fines for not wearing a seat belt on flights.

From the article (and video) it was extreme and unpredictable turbulence - seat belts would have helped those seated, for sure, but from the images it obviously came without any warning - poor people
