People traveling with babies should be required to BUY a seat for those kids into which their car seated is belted. would you travel in a moving car with your baby on your lap? You'd be pulled over. I bought my then infant daughter a seat 20 years ago the few times we flew with her. More expensive? Of course , but safer.Robbie1999
It should be compulsory to keep your belts on at all times we have to do it when we are in a car what's the difference?Not_who_youd_think
Perhaps we should congratulate and thank the pilot for his skill in keeping the plane on the air.Roy G
Hey people, just as in cars, keep your seatbelt fasten at all times! It's not rocket science when flying.anotherme
What are people told on every plane. "please keep your seat belts on at all times unless you have to move" that means unless you have to go to the toilet or walk due to health problems or move because you are in an aisle seat. Lots of people think they know better than the advice given.resistancenowReply toanotherme
I do keep my seat belt on at all times. Sudden turbulence, unforseen is going to cause havoc and injuries. You have people up walking to restrooms, getting something out of the overhead, attendants serving food and then you have little ones who don't have seats who are unsecured for the whole flight.Take this LReply toanotherme
@figaro....I'm a flight attendant, and there is a solution for lap babies. Hold your child to your chest and lean forward, cradling the baby against your chest while doing so. It will prevent your child from being thrown from your arms...it's also on the instruction cards which you are advised to read when the flight attendant gives the safety demo. In flight in turbulence, you should belt up for safetys sake - simples. But people don'tMarisol
Planes can drop into unseen areas of turbulence and fall several thousand feet, without warning, which is why you are usually asked to keep seat belts loosened but fastened whenever you are seated. My SIL was on a flight to Puerto Rico when one such incident occurred. She saved her son from injury by pinning him to his seat just as he was flying up out of it. Many on that flight were not so lucky, I've never forgotten it.Maggie
The only times my seatbelt isn't done up is when I go to the loo. Why are people still in this day when we (well those of us with a brain) know better sitting unbelted in the seats?
