Absolutely right. I keep it fastened the whole time. It doesn't need to be uncomfortable. Just buckled to keep you from flying around in the event of turbulence.

As an ex- stewardess I would never not have my seatbelt on except when using the washroom, I know what can happen. Clean air turbulence can be lethal

And here I was bitching because on our flight to Hawaii last weekend they wanted us wear our seat-belts at all times except to go to the bathroom, and we did hit some scary turbulence and the reason the pilots took the plane to forty thousand feet, which is unusual for a commercial aircraft. Now I understand why.

'Apparently, those who were injured did not have their seat belts fastened, which would suggest that other people did, unless your going to the toilet, then there is no reason to not be wearing your seatbelt! You don't have a car crash and then put your seatbelt on, same rules apply in a plane!

I fly at least every month and when seated I keep my belt fastened, a little loosely. It's not uncomfortable, so why not?

Things like this always worry mebwhen flying long haul. Even though when I am sat down I ALWAYS keep my seatbelt on, but I worry when I'm walking or waiting for the toilet (or in the toilet!) that we'll hit turbulence.

That's why when the ' Fasten seat belt' lights come on. Guess what Fasten them! See these idiots all the time thinking they know better than anyone else and rules aren't for them , but everyone else. They will be the first to buckle up next time .

They probably think it's their prerogative to take the risk to their own safety. But the point is that a body can become a dangerous projectile and seriously injure others during an accident. It's the same with pets unsecured in cars. They could end up killing YOU.

The ' source' report of no sign on at that time was probably one of the ' better than thou ' clowns on the floor with a broken spine. Don't know if you fly a lot, but if they hit several pockets of turbulence, you don't need no signs or anyone telling you to sit down and put your belt on.
