This is WHY it angers me that parents let their kids run up and down the isles, climb about and generally misbehave. Everyone should remain in their seats wth the SEATBELTS FASTNED. The seatbelts sign is only off to allow you bathroom access. I'm crew and I've seen so many injured because of this. With this type of turbulence (clear air) it's likely there will be serious injury if your not strapped in. Parents.....take note.

I don't understand this, it's baffling. I have flown many times and the flight deck are well aware of any approaching turbulence, and even if it is just a precaution passengers will be told to fasten their seat belts - cabin crew will check that has taken place. What on earth went wrong here.

They are not always aware of turbulence - clear air turbulence will not show on any radar and can occur without warning.

They are relying on reports by pilots ahead on the airway, but turbulence is a random creature, and some pilot has to be the first through.

Thank you, I didn't know about that. Hopefully there will be a thorough investigation in order to determine if it was CAT or a breakdown in communication between cockpit and cabin. If the former, very bad luck. If the latter - inexcusable. I think the reputation of this particular airline precedes it which could explain the sentiment of some of the responses.

You don't fly very long distances then? I ask for two reasons; 1), your bladder would have to hod more urine than the average persons' bladder, and 2), for health reasons (to prevent blood clots), you are supposed to walk around the cabin at least once for every hour you are flying - and still do foot, ankle, and leg exercises whilst sitting in your seat - so if you fly to anywhere that is longer than an hour's flight away, you are being very irresponsible to the people and resources that may have to utilised because of your selfish behaviour.

And this is why I always keep my seatbelt fastened. I've experienced bad turbulence before and it's scary. However, if you're in the aisle or toilet you could easily be injured.

Too late. That's why all passengers are always told in several ways, repeated frequently, to keep their belts on. It doesn't often happen this badly but when you hit a rough patch, there's no warning.

That is the normal procedure but a lot of people know a lot more than those advising them and so they ignore what they are told. They get injured and then sue the airline for damages.

Just landed on a flight from UK to Poland.Please do not unfasten your seat belt till the seat belt sign goes off .One idiot decides to stand up to get his bag out of overhead locker.Plane brakes hard .result one broken nose and two loose teeth.Some people do not listen.
