I love the idiotic comparisons saying that Mexicans are more stupid than Chinese or East Indians. Go to China. Go to India. Go to Mexico. Now tell me which one of these three countries has the highest standard of living. If you lie and say China or India, please go live there!

Google “Human Development Index list of countries” Mexico is very near the top. China is much further down, near the middle, and India… India is near the BOTTOM along with the likes of Ghana and Haiti.

And this after being RAPED by everyone from the Spaniards to the French and the Americans repeatedly over HUNDREDS of years and NOT having burdened the world with BILLIONS of people like China and India have done.

At least Mexico has toilets, sanitation and universal health care. Neither China, much LESS India do.

That little Rushton statistic is DEAD wrong…

@ Idiot Chinese Olympics

China has 12.2 times the population of Mexico. So, your little medal comparison shows that Mexico is just as good as China in that area.

IQ is more indicated by REAL development: http://www.wolframalpha.com/input/?i=HDI+of+Mexico+vs+HDI+of+China than by stupid show off propaganda.

Idiot. But then, you are Chinese, so what can anone expect, LOL!

@Idiots

You are right. You say the same things what I said before. The comparison of China and India is ridiculous because if they still continue growing with this rate they will still be very poor even after decades. But how much IQ is important for accelerating the wealth is another debate. I don’t like the people who are very interested in sports because it is the Republican style. At the back the belief in inequality works. They have so high conscientiousness that they want to win in every field. They can’t stand a draw even in a stupid football game. Having high conscientiousness is very much related with perfectionism but it is also very dangerous as one spends most of his energy to useless areas unnecessarily. The ones who are interested in arts have the opposite personality style. They are very selective. Instead of being successful in every field they choose the special areas which they think they have more chance. An ideal person should be at least interested in arts if he isn’t talented in arts. If 2 nations have the same IQ level and profile and one is extremely interested in sports and the other is interested in arts I bet everything that the nation having high interest in arts will become much more prosperous. The artistic people use their energy much more efficiently. It is a pity for China that they don’t have famous names in ice skating though they have plenty of medals in Olympics. Ice skating is also an art. The future looks much brighter for Russia than China.

OK, today I feel very happy and proud both as an Indian and a Bengali that Ashoke Sen becomes one of the winners of the world’s most lucrative academic prize. - Yuri Milner’s Fundamental Physics Prize. This newly established prize is like the opposite of Nobel Prize - which gives more importance to experimental research. This award gives more importance to THEORETICAL research.

Although 9 people gets this - don’t get the wrong idea - they don’t share the award.  Each gets $3 million which is way more than what Nobel winners get. 7 winners are from USA, one from Paris, so Sen is the only one of non-European origin to get this award. Obviously, Sen is in very good company. Among the people that got this reward is Edward Witten who has been labeled as today’s Einstein and is seriously revered in the physics community.

Also, as a winner he gets the honour of getting to decide on the next winners which could be the likes of Hawking or Kaku.

http://www.ndtv.com/article/india/9-scientists-receive-a-new-physics-prize-249869

This has been a good few months for Indians, and particularly Bengalis, in physics. Just a few months back another Bengali, Shourya Ray from Germany, solved a 350 year old problem set by Newton himself. And now A.Sen wins this prize.

@Sambit

I had made my last post in support of you, not to offend you - but looks like I ended up doing the latter because I didn’t agree completely with you. In any case, I don’t care any more as I understand that you really are biased.

If anyone is deluded that is you. You don’t understand the creative process or how it works and what are its requirements. There are many other important factors other than genes that play a role being successful.

To love one’s culture is one thing. To be critical of superstitions and other bad things in a society is one thing. But to call other Indians ” inferior pathetic scum dogs” - I am afraid that is racism. I doubt they even take you seriously any more.

While it is true that a lot of great Bengalis have been fond of many things western, but none of them have ever denied their Indian identity or heritage. They were proud Indians. True, Tagore himself was inspired by several western songs and rhymes, but everyone has inspirations, even Shakespeare had his inspirations, but that doesn’t mean that he blindly advocated to follow everything western. Let me tell you - Tagore was one of the strongest opposers of the Jalianwala Bagh incident - which was a western atrocity and had nothing to do with Bengal.

I don’t think that the other Indians here are trying to deny the western contribution. Everyone here admits that the west has been the most successful in the last few centuries. Rather, the people here are insulted by the trashing of Indians. Unfortunately, it appears that you don’t even see yourself as an Indian, so you don’t feel insulted by such language.

What is funny is that none of the names you mentioned would have supported your racism. Almost all of them are known to be supporters of social equality and/or tolerance. Also, while it is true that a lot of of the successful names you mentioned are from upper-caste Bengali families - you yourself mentioned and even highly praised several Bengalis who do not fall into that category like Mohammad Yunus or Fazlur Khan.  Not only that, some people you claimed to be hindus are technically brahmos. But you can be excused for that as brahmos are originally from hindu families and the religion itself is an evolved form of hinduism which does not believe in image worshiping.

Here, let me mention one more very successful name who was from a lower caste Bengali family - Mani Bhowmik. He is the inventor of the Excimer Laser which has been of tremendous benefitial use in the medical field. He was also the creator of an award winning TV series in USA called Cosmic Quantum Ray
And if you read his biography, you will find how sometimes he was mistreated because of his caste, and perhaps the people who mistreated him were very much like you.

And since you mentioned some notable names from ISI kolkata, you missed out on a big name - India’s only Abel Prize winner was also a student at ISI kolkata. But he wasn’t a Bengali. Neither was Ross or Raman. So what’s your point?

And who told you that there is no good eductaional system outside Bengal? I remember reading an American mathematician mentioning that he benefited greatly from studying his primary math at Baroda. He said what inspired him was the fact that studying a few years in Baroda of India made him lead the math class when he returned to USA, although he was average at Baroda. Just look at Ashoke Sen, most of his work came from Allahabad.

Unlike in the past, when most Bengalis achieved from within the city, a lot of today’s Bengalis are seeking a quiet isolated place outside Calcutta because today’s Bengal is full of over-proud, ambitionless and noisy people. Of course, the home-sick nature of Bengalis usually prevent them from going too far. They would have achieved far more if they weren’t so home sick.

@ The Great

Wow, that’s great news!
So, India wins another Nobel equivalent prize. The prize money blew me away - that’s almost 3 times what Nobel winners get!
Congratulations to Ashoke Sen!

@idiots

Well, I don’t have the money to go and live in Mexico, but I trust you. A large percentage of Indian population has a pretty poor living standard. Also, while I may not know much about Mexico, I have some Mexican friends over the internet and they look like nice people to me.

Both Mexico and China probably has better living standards and less poverty, but I don’t think that has anything to do with intelligence. Just look at India’s achievements like the Yuri Milner’s Prize won by Ashoke Sen where as the Chinese mainly boast about school competitions.

#Olympics

The Olympics has really heated up this board. It really gives a lot of interesting things to talk about.
Firstly, I concede that India is no match for China in this. China in 4 days surpassed India’s all time gold and total medals.

Some interesting things in Olympics:

USA have accused China of cheating after their 16 year old “superwoman” had an amazing race. :D
In fact, some coaches are speculating that China might have gone one step further than doping and actually did some genetic manipulation!
http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2181121/Ye-Shiwen-US-attacks-China-drugs-row-supergirl-swimmer.html

And since idiots brought population into picture- I found this interesting alternative medal table
http://www.nzherald.co.nz/sport/news/article.cfm?c_id=4&objectid=10824114
Qatar and Slovenia are the best Olympic nations judging by population!

I did a search about the wealthiest 20 people of America.

http://www.forbes.com/forbes-400/#p_1_s_arank_All industries_All states_All categories_

13 people (Warren Buffet, Charles Koch, David Koch, George Soros, Jim Walton, Alice Walton, Robson Walton, Michael Bloomberg, Jeff Bezos, Sergey Brin, Larry Page, John Paulsen, Forrest Mars) have bachelor of Arts/Science degree. All these people are interested in arts. I don’t think any of them is really interested in sports. Having high interest in arts leads one to look for the different things. I suggest one who has high conscientiousness will study every lesson very hard and spend most of his energy but one who is interested in arts will study only the lessons he thinks he is better at. I believe both artistic interest and talent make a doping effect to creativity. Artistic talent is already a natural gift but artistic interest also helps one to be sensitive and so selective on various subjects. It doesn’t help one to understand the subjects better but help him to know he will be more successful. Being interested in sports doesn’t provide anything to a nation. In fact I expect exactly the opposite effect. Many Nobel Prize winners have talents in various branches of arts.
http://scienceblogs.com/art_of_science_learning/2011/04/11/the-art-of-scientific-and-tech-1/
I think Bengali is the center of arts in India. Maybe that explains better why they have more creative scientists than the other states in India.

Oh my god, how people are ignorant about India, Bengali’s are the centre of arts ? give me a break, where are you from ?
The recognized Indian Classical Dance form by State(s) of origin are :-
Bharatanatyam - Tamil Nadu
Kathak     -      Rajasthan, Punjab, Delhi, Uttar Pradesh
Kathakali     -      Kerala
Kuchipudi     -      Andhra Pradesh
Manipuri     -      Manipur
Mohiniyattam   - Kerala
Odissi     -      Orissa
Sattriya       -      Assam

Can you see Bengal here ?

There are only two recognized Classical musical systems in India

1. Hindustani - North Inidan
2. Carnatic - South Indian

Bengal is east India

Classical literature - every Indian state has its own share, so Bengal too

Bengali’s are hardly 5% of the Indian scientists starting from ancient, medieval to modern period

google it, even Wikipedia can give you a good picture.

Only Track and field are real sports all others can be enhanced easily with practise. That is why we see the entry of China, but in Track and field it is always Blacks, which ever country they represent.

Don’t carry away from the posts of Bengali liars,  they think they are cats actually they are mouse…....Every Indian knows about it,  I know you are not an Indian ...... so it is Ok.

Well another scum dog has posted some bullshits here in the above post.

The world knows only two name from Indian art and music-Satyajit Ray and Ravishankar-both are Bengali.

George Harrison is dead but Paul Mccartney is still alive and he will tell you the impact of Ravishankar on Beatles.

Already abcd posted a list of top 1000 scientist of all time published by Philip Barker, the book which I also have-In that list there are 7 people listed working In India and 5 of them were from Bengal and 4 of them were ethnic Bengali and if I count Sir Ronald Ross it’s actually 6.There are 3 other Indian American on that list too.

If you go through Top university in Uk-such as Cambridge,Oxford,Ucl you will find nearly 40 percent of them are Bengali,Followed by Tamil Brahmins.

So far 3 person at Cambridge have won Stevenson award-Amartya Sen,Sir Partha Dasgupta and Mahima Khanna-@ of them from Bengal and Dasgupta although were born in Bangladesh but took his school education outside Bengal but he is Bengali and is definitely going to win Nobel prize if they award it for Environmental Economics.

I have already shown all Indian Nobel laureates are From Kolkata and apart from Salam all are from Bengal.

In USA There 30-40 percent student and faculty in physics ,chemistry or Bio Science are from Bengal and i am only counting for top 50,not any 2nd tier institute where you people mostly go.

A Bengali girl Anita Sengupta is now going in Mars very recently.

But again, you are a pathetic 80 iq retarded mongrel who has probably never heard anything about all those things posted above.

Ashok Sen can win a big prize but he is not a footnote compared to JC Bose or Satyendra Bose who did such pioneering work at their home when you idiot(or should i say your even dumber ancestors) did not know how to read or write English.

@Great

I have many things to tell you but today I will not discuss any of those things but I must say You have done a mess of total things.

You are such an idiot not even worth for a debate, bullshit in the above post ? These are facts, defend it if you can rather than side lining, Prove me what I have posted is wrong, stay to contest, cant right ?, so I am not going to argue with you, You already lost in your debate to @Great and @Astro and totally disappeared from the scene and re surfaced, My post was for Indian Strategy not for a Dumb ass like you. I can give 1000’s of names from Indians from other states, all Indian Nobel laureates are From Kolkata and apart from Salam all are from Bengal????. So any one walk into Bengal will became a Bengali , nice strategy? Out of 9 Nobel laureates just 2 are from Bengal in Literature and Economics not one even from science , give me a break man. Location do not matter ,This is the way you guys twist the truth, Just because of British presence Kolkota got a head start in Institutions and education in those days not any more, Bengal is pushed back to 6th place in GDP and 13th place in Literacy in India you idiot, Shame on you !!!!!!!!!. You are not only an Idiot but a liar and a nut too. Anyway no time to waste run away from here before other Indians spot you here.

@Chinese Olympics

India is not spending any money on sports other than just in cricket where you can see their presence well, that explains everything. In track an field the genitical traits precedes, No one can win blacks, Indians are not blacks. Once Soviet Union was a major medal winner in Olympics and China was nothing, How come they lost and China shows its presence ? training man that is it. Gymnastics is an easy way to get medals, practise it from a very young age that is what Soviets use to do, now china is following those steps to flex muscles to US, You know what happened to USSR, this can happen to China too if they go for show off’s, China still have many starving ppl, you cant eat medals when you are hungry man. In that way India is more wise.

I know that the Indian state West Bengal is poor like the other states of India. Also Bengal is very poor. The link below informs about Bengal. I was just wondering what kind of an effect artistic talent and/or interest has on business creativity and scientific creativity. It is an open discussion how the mechanism works but possibly an artistic interest mind is programmed to looking for the new and different things in any subject. That is the essence of arts.

http://www.itwb.org/download_pdf/itpolicy_2003.pdf

Artistic and creative talent: West Bengal is the prime source of artistic
talent in India. It has a strong tradition of visual arts, is the home for
modern Indian theatre and cinema. Creative tradition of the State in
different fields of entertainment related IT and ITeS activities e.g.
animation that will significantly help it in attaining its vision.

Just Google it , even Wikipedia has many info, When it comes to arts go with classics, google for Indian classical arts, Classical musics ,Indian classical literature,  Indian States by GDP, Literacy, Indian Nobel price winners. forget about movies those are not classical arts yet, may be as time goes. @Idiot Indian arts

Indian Nobel laureates are only 4-Tagore,Raman,Mother Teresa,Amartya Sen-and all of them did their work in Kolkata although Amartya went to Cambridge but he won Nobel prize with Indian nationality. But again a scum dog like you probably don’t even understand the difference Between Indian and people of Indian origin.

Except Salam of Pakistan rest of the South Asian Nobel laureates are From Bengal-i.e,Yunus from Bangladesh and 4 others already I have mentioned.

You are also such a shameless pathetic obnoxious ler that you think only 5 percent scientist are Bengali.I checked wikipedia and found that nearly 30-35 percent with Bengali surnames but most of them have been stated as Indian.

For example Jhumpa Lahiri, the pulitzer winner is stated as bengali, but Sidhhartha Mukherjee who is also a Bengali pulitzer winner,is being stated as Indian.

Yes,there may be millions of scientist from rest of India but we here are talking about only the Global phenomenons, not a fourth category scientist like you.

P.C Ray has become the first person outside Europe to win Royal society plaque award winner-Read it on Internet.can you provide any name equivalent to him.Satyendra Bose comes within top 25 or at least within top 50 in various rankings published by various Books and I have already shown some of them.No other Indian feature in top 100 list.Landau in his famous ranking list put him at 3rd place jointly with other fathers of quantum.and already many non Bengali people in this blog have highly praised Jc Bose and his work-suh as indians are smart -so what are you trying to prove here?

Even Bangladesh is producing better talent than your India-3 years ago a bangladeshi working in Dhakha discovered the cause of cholera which Harvard researchers could not find after long research and if everything goes well he will win Nobel within next 20 years.

Jawed Karim-Architect of paypal and co founder of you tube-he is also of Bangladeshi origin.

Can you name anyone from India to match jawed-don’t bring 6th category unknown, unheard name who is not a footnote compared to these men.

Rabindranath Tagore(the only person in this planet to compose 3 national anthems and either 2 or may be all three lyrics of those songs) has made nearly 2300 songs which are immortal in Bengal.I will not downplay the culture of rest of India but even Hillary Clinton has praised Bengali people while wishing them Happy Bengali new year due to their immense contribution in world of art and literature.

In Europe many of Tagore’s drama had been acted at various time and now English poet William Radice is spreading it every where.

And I don’t even bother to talk about that 2 critical puzzles solved by 16 year old boy Sourya because a 80 Iq retarded moron will not even understand anything about those two critical puzzlrs which even gave me some hard time when I first saw the solution.
