The Indian/Chinese IQ puzzle
@ Dumb ass - SAMBIT Nothing will enter into your idiotic brain, Nobel prize winners are:-
Ronald Ross Medicine Foreign citizens born in India - Not an Indian Orgin
Rudyard Kipling Literature Foreign citizens born in India - Not an Indian Orgin
Rabindranath Tagore Literature Citizen of British India - Bengali -YES
C.V. Raman Physics Citizen of British India - Tamil, South Indian
Har Gobind Khorana Medicine Foreign citizens of Indian origin - North Indian
Mother Teresa Peace Citizen of India - Not an Indian Orgin
Subrahmanyan Chandrasekhar Physics Foreign citizens of Indian origin - Tamil, South Indian
Amartya Sen Economic Sciences Citizen of India - Bengali - YES
Venkatraman Ramakrishnan Chemistry Foreign citizens of Indian origin - Tamil, South Indian
Actually there was only 2 Bengali’s or from Bengal Orgin, Most of the Nobel prize winners in Science are south Indians and there is not even one Bengali who got a Nobel prize in Science. But I am not saying there are no great scientists from Bengal there are Like Jagadish Chandra Bose, Sathyandra Nath Bose , He didn’t get the recognition which he deserved, even though Bosons were named after him.
You checked Wikipedia ? The names of Indian scientists from the ancient times , tell me how many are Bengali’s from this list ? Count and tell me the names of 30% from this list , it is less than 5% for sure, you nut will not agree that is why I have to post this.

The only recognized Indian Classical Dance form by State(s) of origin are :-
Bharatanatyam - Tamil Nadu
Kathak - Rajasthan, Punjab, Delhi, Uttar Pradesh
Kathakali - Kerala
Kuchipudi - Andhra Pradesh
Manipuri - Manipur
Mohiniyattam - Kerala
Odissi - Orissa
Sattriya - Assam
Bengali’s has an art form called Gaudiya Nrithya but not considered in the above classical dance category.
There are only two recognized Classical musical systems in India, PERIOD
1. Hindustani - North Inidan
2. Carnatic - South Indian
Tagore is great everyone knows this.
I read the early posts. Once you have totally lost to @Astro and @Great because you are too dumb for them. I have never heard in India people saying Bengali’s are smart. If you go to every state every state has some thing to say about themselves- EGO-. I lived in your Bengal for few years, very dirty and congested place, Bengali’s are famous for playing office politics. Then I stopped recruiting them.
SO PLEASE GET OUT FROM HERE OR STAY FOR INDIANS AS THIS FORUM IS INDIAN IQ VS CHINESE IQ NOT THAT STUPID BENGALI’S VS INDIAN’S OK
SORRY TO OTHER BENGALI’S MY INTENTION WAS NOT TO LET DOWN ANY BENGALI’S, I KNOW SOME GOOD AND SMART PEOPLE, THESE KIND OF STUPID LOW IQ DUMB’S ARE THE CURSE FOR YOUR STATE AND FOR WHOLE OF INDIA ,,,,,SO SAD.
ONE LAST QUESTION IF BENGALI’S ARE TOO SMART WHY THE LITERACY RATE IS ONLY IN THE 13TH POSITION IN INDIA ? EVEN THOUGH THEY GOT A HEAD START WITH BRITISH SYSTEM OF EDUCATION ........... THAT SHOWS EVERYTHING…......... I DO NOT NEED ANYTHING ELSE TO SUBSTANTIATE MY POINT. ANSWER THIS FIRST RATHER THAN GOING AROUND THE BUSH,,, CLEAR THIS FIRST POINT THEN WE PROCEED…...
lol, idiot “upper castes”. Upper level Chinese beats upper caste indian by far, probably 30% higher in IQ and that’s the only fair way to compare. Upper caste indians will probably only fall into mid level among Chinese IQ curve. Indian “4” time winner in putnam, lol, sure whatever, sounds to me like another one of those lies like “1 in 5 ... indian, 1 in 3 indian… “. Here’s a fact for you to digest, in the top tier world level science and math competitions, where you upper caste indians compete, you lose every single year to the chinese. Since you’re so keen to demonstrate upper caste indian iq by bring up competitions as evidence, I can bring up 10~20 competitions won by Chinese for every one by you upper caste indian, i mean, really? do you really want go in that direction, where you basically got your asses handed over by the chinese.
somebody brought up Pultizer prize, why are indian so obsessed about winning some english writing prize? why are you so proud of the ability to write your white master’s language? i mean, seriously? it simply shows how much you like to suck up to the whites.
and please stop posting all these so called “great indian scientist” no one has ever heard of. I can post more no-one-heard of chinese scientist for every indian you post, what’s the point? so this half-white, half-indian Bose, who was never recognized as a significant scientific contributor? if that’s the person indians are so proud of, then I’m more convinced south asian contribution to science is minuscule compare to the east asians. although Einstein never won a noble prize, at least the consensus in the world is that he’s the greatest scientist ever… but a bottom tier scientist like Bose? no nobel or any consensual recognition, and that’s the best indian can come up with? sounds like indians really have no one else to show, you just hang onto anyone you can find, but then again, what do you expect, given an average IQ of 81.
the consensus place indian iq in the west including UK and US at sixth or seventh, definitely behind Chinese/Japanese/Korean/Jew and White. bottom line, south asian just can’t measure up to the east asians, the sooner you realize this, the sooner it would be better for everybody.
someone up there start dreaming again about “in 20 years… nobel”, which falls in the same category of “1 in 5 ... are indian, 1 in 3 are indian” lol. i guess if you have nothing to show now, you can at least brag about some future event that has remote chances of happening, keep dreaming… here’s my version, chances are, in 20 or even the next 60 years, south asians will still trail far behind the east asians in nobel prizes and scientific contributions, the gap will get even bigger as china will pull further ahead as it starts dominating in science not only over rest of the world including europe and isreal, but also will be close on par with the US.
@ Idiot Indian arts
Dumb Indian with big mouth-someone came with this name in this blog and you certainly desrve that tag but you are also a shameless lier with full of inferiority complex.
Nobel prize:First Raman won Nobel from Iacs,Bengal which was established by a Bengali. Why He had to leave his ugly ASS HOLE Tamil Nadu?We did not even go in your DUMB SOUTH INDIA even for pissing.Official Nobel prize website shows he is from University of Calcutta,Bengal,Not your Dumb South India.
Ross was first laureate from British empire and he won from bengal and even had Couple of Bengali research assistant.
Mother Teresa’s Missionaries of charity has more than 90 percent nun as Bengali and she also won from Bengal.
Chandrasekhar,Khorana and Ramakrishnan are American and won from that country-Not from India or your Dumb ASS hole south India.
SO I just make a comparison between INTELLIGENT BENGAL vs DUMB SOUTH INDIA:
NOBEL: 5 out of six Nobel from South Asia are from Bengal vs 0 Dumb South India and 1 from Pakistan.
GRAMMY:Ravishankar,Nora and Bikram Ghose, all 3 Bengali have won !6 Grammy so far vs 0 dumb South India
One of the greatest Film maker of history Satyajit Ray-Bengali vs 0 dumb South India.
The most coveted award winner of Physics-Ashok Sen ,a Bengali and Indian although he carried out his research in USA. vs 0 dumb South Indian.
BUT BENGALI ARE ONLY 5% in India while DUMB SOUTH INDIAN ARE MORE THAN 20 PERCENT.
Now in USA_BENGALI PEOPLE FROM INDIA ARE ONLY 2-3% and they have won 2 Pulitzer Vs 0 DUMB SOUTH INDIAN With more than one third population.
NOW the list of Scientist you have given in list 2 are not any world renowned except Ashok Sen ,Manilal Bhowmick and CNR Rao-But I will not count Mani Bhowmick although he is a Bengali(he is currently an American).
So one Bengali and one south Indian.
Now we Bengali are not such pathetic narrow minded scum dog like you so we appreciate others for their success and we also consider Mother Teresa or Ronald Ross as our own people.
And Satyendra Bose and Subhas Mukhopadhya’s work have already won Nobel prize after their death, both were Bengali and Both of them did their work in Bengal and you even claimed that Jc bose should have won although I personally believe that Tesla deserved the award for invention of radio more than anybody.
Now neither I nor any westerner will give any damn to your inferior dumb bullshit south Indian culture so better you shut your mouth before I humiliate you in more pathetic way.
And even ancient time it was greater Bengal (which includes current Bihar and orissa as it was united till 1911) which was the home of Astronomer and Mathematician like Aryabhata.north india also produced some one like Bramha Gupta or Bhaskara but where was your Dumb south India?
You people claim how smart you are but I know the reality is very much contrary to that claim_The blogger is not racist, neither the people who have posted here are racist but you people deserve every bit of that.
And you ask Any neutral people like the Brits and they will tell you the difference between Bengal and your rest of India.
Read this blog-Oh! Kolkata-the past and future-written by one of the renowned journalist of the world and he too is a British-Jonathan Power.
Now I sense you will come up with another load of crap but this time i will not even bother to reply a mentally retarded shameless pathetic iq deluded lier.
@SAMBIT idiot, I skipped my last question….
Idiot if you move to south India will you became a south Indian ? Orgin is important , I am only talking about Orgin, C.V.Raman is still a south Indian where ever he move. Chandrasekhar,Khorana and Ramakrishnan are American and won from that country, yes but dumb ass they are Indian Origin. Einstein is still known as a Jew more than an American or German. First he was a German then American but he was always a JEW that is the stamp, will never change citizenship can change use login man ....
How come Nora is a Bengali according to your logic, She is an American, even her mother is a white ? So Asshole stick to one, as per your login she has to be an American , then why are you including her, I will say she is half Indian Origin, even though she totally denied Ravi Shankar as her father. This guy made a child and run away. A womaniser and didn’t do anything to NORA, Since she got Grammy wow!! He surfaced back, the real Bengali attitude, they are traitors and cheaters.
Add this in to your list too the south/north Indian grammy award winners too , you dumb ass
Zakir Husain
Vikku Vinayak
Vishwa Mohan Bhatt
A.R. Rehman
As per your login Pandit Ravi Sankar lives in Mumbai , still he is a Bengali ?
SO IDIOT STICK TO EITHER TAKE THE ORIGIN OR THE LOCATION. YOU ARE SAILING IN TWO BOATS AT A TIME
ESPECIALLY IN THIS FORUM YOU IDOT , NEVER SEEN A BRAIN LESS GUY LIKE YOU ......YOU ARE ARGUING FOR THE SAKE OF ARGUING.
I AM NOT A SOUTH INDIAN, I AM NOT FOR SOUTH INDIANS , I AM FOR INDIANS AS YOU ARE AN ANTI-INDIAN DUMB BONG ASS, IF YOU LIKE TOO MUCH BENGAL GO AND LIVE IN BANGLADESH, MAY BE YOU ARE A BANGLADESHI IT LOOKS LIKE, that is why you hate us Indians.
IF BENGALI’S ARE TOO SMART WHY THE LITERACY RATE IS ONLY IN THE 13TH POSITION IN INDIA ? EVEN THOUGH THEY GOT A HEAD START WITH BRITISH SYSTEM OF EDUCATION ........... THAT SHOWS EVERYTHING…......... I DO NOT NEED ANYTHING ELSE TO SUBSTANTIATE MY POINT.
YOU CONVENIENTLY SKIPPED TO ANSWER, ANSWER IF YOU HAVE THE GUTS .........STICK TO CONTEST YOU DUMB ASS….......
This thread is a huge joke.
EVERYONE knows that Chinese come no.1 and Indians no.2 in IQ. Everyone else comes far below us.
EVERYONE knows that IQ tests don’t test fluid intelligence and thus are never valid.
EVERYONE knows that the cast system is not evil. The cast system had equality deeply ingrained in it. In Hinduism, the low-casts are considered as the feet of Brahma (God), and without them God cannot walk. In Hinduism, women are considered above God, ESPECIALLY the mothers of people. In Hinduism, God Krishna stooped down and married a milk-maid (low caste). Hinduism is said to be OLDER than 10,000 years! You expect me to believe that the cast system is wrong?
Don’t think Indians or the Chinese are stupid. If both combine, Indians and Chinese people have enough intelligence and colossal power to send the world spinning in the other direction. Together, both can make the Earth orbit the Sun in another direction and even top it all off with a cherry on top.
I’m Indian origin, my girlfriend is Chinese origin and we both intend to have plenty of children. We both are doctors in London and we are very proud of our origins and we know that racists are products of improper nurture and have absences in their education and sometimes intelligence.
Good luck with your lives. If you are racist, and choose to carry on being racist, you will die a terrible death, as that’s the inevitable fate of those who do terrible deeds and have terrible thoughts.
Sorry for the mistakes I am reposting it

@ high IQ EA
There is NOTHING half- white about any of the Boses - S.N.Bose or J.C.Bose. They are 100% Indian and they are Bengali. First learn to do some research.
And sure, S.N.Bose isn’t as famous as Einstein. But fame isn’t everything. By this, I never said that he was a bigger scientist than Einstein, but he certainly did one of the most important works. Ettore Majorana, Stephen Hawking, Roger Penrose, Edward Witten, Higgs, Edison and lots of other geniuses have never got the nobel. Have you even heard names like Majorana? He was one of the best scientists ever.
@ Indian Arts
Indian Arts, while I can understand your frustrations due to Sambit’s insulting comments, and I apologize on behalf of all Bengalis for his behavior. I believe all Indians have the talent to make fundamental contributions. And southies are great. Several of them have made our country proud.
However, I can’t agree any further as your anti-Bengali sentiments are as much against me as they are against Sambit.
Firstly, Northern Classical music is the dominant form of classical music in ALL of Indian sub-continent, with the possible exception of one or two Indian states like Tamil Nadu. Even in Karnataka, as opposed to what the name Carnatic might suggest, the hindustani classical music is preferred. In Bengal, as well as in Bangladesh, it goes by the name of Shastriya Sangeet rather than “hindustani sangeet” (in bengal hindustani can sometimes mean a hindi speaker, as opposed to an indian).
And no single state can claim to have invented indian classical music. That’s just a ridiculous claim for something so ancient.
In fact, your comments about Ancient Indian scientists are also ridiculous to say the least, because it is more or less impossible to know accurately where exactly in India one lived in the distant past. Ancient Indian languages were not as distinct. Nearly, all of Indian languages are derived from Sanskrit or at least has a strong influence of sanskrit. And there has been some gradual migration too.
Secondly, while the dance forms you listed above may not have originated in Bengal, but you can find dance schools in Bengal for each of those mentioned styles. Bengal has always welcomed any good idea from anywhere in this world. In Satyajit Ray’s movies there is a fusion of Indian, Western and Chinese artistic styles.
As far as poverty and illeteracy goes, I believe a large part of the statistics is the result of immigrations. Most of the small jobs in Bengal like Jhalmuriwalas, Cobblers, Coolies etc are not held by ethnic Bengalis but by immigrants. Like Sambit said earlier, the average middle-class Bengali actually lives a fairly comfortable life and are fairly eductaed. Now I have no problems against immigration, nor do I believe in racial differences. But you have to understand that Bengalis can take care of themselves, but it’s impossible to make every new immigrant rich.
And why do you think there is so much immigration? It’s precisely because calcutta has historically been one of the top achieving cities.
Bengalis are mouse and other people of India think that? Only few people suffering from inferiority complex and jealousy console themselves with such gossips. There is hardly any recognizable name in India that has ever said anything bad about Bengali people. A lot of famous Indians from elsewhere have praised the Bengali culture.
I already mentioned that Sachin tendulkar was named after S.D.Burman.
Asha Bhosle’s son is named Hemant, after Bengali musician Hemanta Mukherjee(Hemant Kumar). She once said in an interview that everyone in Maharashtra knows about Sarat Chandra Chattopadhay. Almost everyone in Maharashtra are very fond of his writing. Moreover, Asha said that when she read his stories she felt so attached to it that she thought that she must have been a Bengali in her previous life.
The grammy and academy award winner Gulzar said that the only reason he came to film industry was because the famous director Bimal Roy, a bengali, had noted his talent and had affectionately told him not to waste such talent for writing. He is also married to a Bengali Rakhi Gulzar. The core of his best work has been with Bengalis and most of his best works are based on Bengali novels. For example, Kitaab is based on a novel by Samaresh Basu. Currently, he is translating Tagore to other Indian languages. It is true that Bengalis are often labeled as very emotional by others, but it is also true that lot of the same people who gave this label have often said that they never got the kind of love they get from Bengal anywhere else.
You can show 1000s of names from other states? Really? It’s not hard to name some people who contributed, but how many of those names have contributed as greatly as most of those who were named by myself and Sambit?
The list of names you pulled up from internet also contains several Bengalis that neither I nor Sambit has named, because neither of us thought that their contribution was significant enough. The Boses might not have got the nobel, but if you think that that just makes them just another modest contributor like some of the names there, then all I can say is that it is impossible to argue with stupidity.
Ettore Majorana, Stephen Hawking, Roger Penrose, Edward Witten, Peter Higgs, Edison and lots of other geniuses have never got the nobel. Have you even heard their names? Do you have any idea how big their contributions are? Much bigger than most of the nobel winners. Einstein got the nobel for a much inferior work of photo-electrric effect, as compared to relativity which did not get the nobel. Nobel prizes are rewarded for discoveries which are immediately experimentally verified. Richard Feynman called the prize a pain in the neck.
In fact, I held back a lot when I mentioned Bengali names.
For example, let’s take Printing. The basic ideas first originated in China, and later it developed more in Europe with Gutenberg’s Bible. However, some of the most relevant methods in modern printing were actually invented by Satyajit Ray’s grandfather Upendra Kishore Ray Chowdhury. In fact, he made these contributions 100 years back, but they are still in use today. Apart from this, he was also a notable writer for children.
Or let’s take J.C.Bose’s nephew D.M.Bose. He was the first to discover mesons in Darjeeling. But the nobel prize for the discovery of mesons was awarded to European scientists who discovered it much later. The only possible justification could be that D.M.Bose’s method was slightly less sophisticated.
Or let’s take Ashok Sen’s teacher A.K.Raychaudhuri. Without the Raychoudhuri equation, Hawking and Penrose couldn’t have derived the singularity theorem.
Part of Sambit’s hatred becomes understandable when one comes across comments like yours.
Bengalis may or may not have good genes, but at least admit the success of Bengalis.
@Sambit
I haven’t messed anything. Your superiority complex of racist nature makes me feel guilty as a fellow Bengali. I just want everyone to know that not everyone in Bengal are snobs like you. And what’s even more annoying is the way you wag your tail in front of whites and bark at other Indians, especially south Indians.
Are you from Bangladesh? Not many in West Bengal will use the term “your India” because West Bengal is a part of india.
Also,
Ashoke Sen did not do his main work in USA. He did his PhD there. Most of his main works were done in India, but not in kolkata.
Curiosity has landed safely in Mars. That’s the latest news.
Interestingly, among the 3 main Indian names from Curiosity, 2 are Bengali
Amitabh Ghosh

@China Olympics
India does not have the resources to compete in the Olympics.
India did not compete in Fifa simply because India could not afford to provide adequate shoes for their football players.
Nonetheless, sports are the most useless thing to use to compare countries. In China, the exercise the players are forced to do are cruel. Coaches there SIT ON UNDERAGED GIRLS every day for hours to help them stretch as gymnasts. In fact, in the last Olympics an underaged girl was taken to the Olympics which is against the rules. Of course China lost a medal.
Not only that, but some Chinese athletes have massive weights put on them, some are left suspended in thin air with colossal weights hanging from them. Even more worryingly, some are forced to wear bin-liner bags so they sweat more and some even get dangerously injured in simply training. The Chinese coaches also use trickery, they say that it’s plain discipline to work hard, when the coaches add more time to the stop-watches to truly stretch the muscles of the Chinese beyond belief. Source: The Times Magazine.
Even in the Medical field, are athletes thought of as worse than smokers and drinkers combined. It costs the NHS more than smokers and drinkers combined because Athletes get very expensive injuries. Who is there to say that a person who can move one feet in front of the other very fast (running) has accomplished more than a cardiothorasic surgeon who ends up going to court several times just to do his job?
I will end this topic by saying that a lot of the people on here are uneducated and have not been nurtured properly at all.
Good bye.
@ Great,
I agree with you in many aspects and differ in some, my comments were against this guy SAMBIT, but indirectly it might have affected other Bengali’s, but I mentioned in my early post to bear with me in that aspect. You talk sensible and let me clarify a few points.
When it comes to Nobel Prize, A proclaimed theory has to be proved in their life time to get the Nobel prize, that is why Ettore Majorana, Stephen Hawking, Roger Penrose, Edward Witten, Higgs, Edison, did not get it, Stephen Hawkings and Roger Penrose’s major works are on Black holes so I don’t think they are going to get it, this can’t be proved in the near future. Hawking’s always looses his bet , Boundary conditions, Black hole information, now he lost another $100 w.r.t to Higgs-Bosons ( God particles) discovery. Higgs may get it now as the CERN laboratory in Geneva discovered Higgs-bosons, - so I agree with you that Nobel prize is not only the criteria but you cant deny it.
-Orgin always matter, because it never change , citizenship can change, Einstein was always a Jew, so who gets the Nobel prize is important than form where you get it. Calcutta got a head start due to British influence, where was the East India Company formed ? in Calcutta in 1706, what a head start so naturally chances for industry / education is more there, The first modern University in India was Calcutta university, man that explains why there were many famous people and initial contribution from Calcutta, That is why most of the Nobel prizes came from there though the orgin of most of the people behind was others. but they couldn’t sustain it and pushed back to the 13th position why ? Okay economy is a reason for it , so my point is that Bengali’s are not a special cream from other Indians as this guy SAMBIT barks. Though there are many great Bengali’s like other Indians from other part, I don’t deny it
When it comes to classical dance ,the only recognized Indian Classical Dance form by State(s) of origin are :-
Bharatanatyam - Tamil Nadu
Kathak - Rajasthan, Punjab, Delhi, Uttar Pradesh
Kathakali - Kerala
Kuchipudi - Andhra Pradesh
Manipuri - Manipur
Mohiniyattam - Kerala
Odissi - Orissa
Sattriya - Assam
Bengali’s has an art form called Gaudiya Nrithya but not considered in the above classical dance category. - I still stand by it
If you search the history Hindustani music evolved from Carnatic music, with influences from persian and islamic styles. there is no any third great form of music in India , but I agree with you that others has contribution in it as it is widely used in India.
No: of Indian scientists place of origin cannot be affirmed is a fact I agree with you but to an extend the surnames can be an indicator. This guy was mentioning that 30% was Bengali’s, ” No way” that is why I posted that.
The Art of sculpture was more prevalent in India rather than Painting other than the legacy of Ajantha tradition, These kinds of sculptured temple are seen more in north and in south. East ???
I can take tons of non Bengalis in the Indian contest but tradition matters and the contribution of the society as a whole if you want to project regional wise, rather than taking a Bose or a Satyajith Ray or a Ravi Sankar.
Projecting regional wise is a narrow minded tendency but how do you deal with such racial guys like SAMBIT where he himself discrediting other fellow Indians instead of boosting against these Chinese pimps.
Sorry that if I have hurt you Bengalis in a personal level….... It was not intentional.
Einstein’s theory was proven in his life time, he still didn’t get any nobel for relativity. There are lots of such examples. Edison didn’t get nobel. A lot of prime contributors in DNA research didn’t get it. Tesla, who was overrated but still brilliant, also didn’t. So what? Are you trying to deny their scientific merit?
My point was that you were trying to show here that Bengalis don’t do well in science because they don’t have a nobel in science and this is a laughable argument .
I showed to you at least 5 Bengali names in science whose contributions were at least as big as the average nobel prize winner. This is not true of any other state.
Like I said, even your list which you pulled up from the net contains several bengali names that neither I, nor Sambit bothered mentioning, because we were mostly mentioning names of the highest level. It’s not hard to name people from India who contributed, It’s hard to name people from a SINGLE STATE whose achievements are of the HIGHEST LEVEL. Tamil Nadu is the only state that comes close.
Calcutta may have been the capital of british india, but it was not the only place that Brits ruled. They ruled the entire subcontinent. Nor is calcutta the first or only place where the Brits established their educational institues. Sure, the Brits helped with infrastructure, and most bengalis admit that, but the achievement of Bengalis go far beyond that one factor.
Also, while origin may be more important, but location and the people you work with do matter. That is why I think Sambit has a point.
And Sambit isn’t wrong, nearly 30% of Indians in top western universities are indeed bengalis, despite being a small population in West.
I already told you how 2 of 3 major Indian names in the NASA project Curiosity are bengalis. And not just in USA, the principal scientist in India’s moon mission is also a Bengali from Assam - J.N. Goswami.
The idea that hindustani music evolved from carnatic music is a popular theory, not a fact that has been proven beyond any doubt. But in case, even if the theory were true, I am saying that it’s menaingless to bring something like that and then put it against bengalis.
As for the dance forms, I never said these are from Bengal; what I am saying is that you can find schools for each of these dance forms in Bengal. Bengal has always welcomed all good things with open arms.
My above post should not be seen as an attck to other Indians. I know that at least 10 indian states have a rich heritage and past. Nor do I give importance to whatever small genetic differences exist.
What I am saying is that Bengalis are probably the most successful group in India, followed by Tamilians in second place. My argument is that at least the achievements should be recognized instead of “Bengalis have done nothing, it’s all a myth”. It is precisely these kinds of words that gives rise to people like Sambit. They feel that the rest of India do not appreciate what they have given.
I also feel that Biharis in India are slowly taking the place of Jews in West. The Jews started slowly in west hundreds of years ago taking up the smaller jobs, but then they gradually moved to all the higher positions with their ability to work hard. I can also see the Biharis slowly moving to the higher positions in India from very lowly positions. May be I am wrong or misunderstanding things, but 1 thing that I have discovered in Biharis is that they are capable of working extremely hard.
Day 10
China - 64 medals ; 31 gold, 19 silver, 14 bronze - Rank 1
India - 3 medals; 1 silver, 2 bronze - Rank 44
@Doctor101
Those are all exaggeratons and sometimes plain lies. One has to push harder to achieve results.
China is the second largest economy and will at least finish in top 2. Now compare India’s economy and Indian performance.
@Great, India became an ancient civilization becz of its greatest philosophical contributions in Hinduism, Buddhism and Jainism, Classical music, Natya Shastra , Sculptural Arts etc which were mostly the contribution from the North and the South. Bengal’s contribution was mostly in the British India period, They got the head start, Other states too got it but later, Kerala has 100% literacy due to the Christian Missionary work and school, so there are reasons. Facts remains as facts. How much you argue in favour of your Bengali’s the fact remains that the Literacy rate is only at the 13th place even though the GDP of W.Bengal is at the 6th place so even you cant blame economy right. In Bengal, the English education started at a very early stage compared to other parts of India, The same issue we have when we argue with Chinese when it comes to the Average IQ of the Indians. So it is better to leave it at this stage instead of wasting our energy and time. You have some points, I have some points and that guy has no points.
@ Chinese Olympics, Don’t you know India’s Economy is in 3rd place, Compare the Size of US and China, still we are in the 3rd place with a 1/3rd size of your country. Don’t forget that our Ancestors taught your Ancestors Buddhism. India is not investing in sports, we are into Cricket only, come and play with us Cricket buddy then you will know. Let me ask you one question in track and field why you guys are not even coming in finals, I didn’t see even one Chinese fellow even in 100 / 200 m finals why only blacks, that is the in-born trait, getting medal in gymnastic is like boosting the IQ by practise, you Chinese can only shine in repetitive tasks not in innovation. One thing I can agree you mongoloids are the most hard working people on planet earth, so take that credit and keep quiet.
@Indian Arts
I think your comment is a bit misleading.
Firstly, Indian classical arts and music is not one single thing that was suddenly discovered in a specific place in its present form. These arts have evolved throughout India for many many centuries. Most states including Bengal have played a role in its evolution.
Also, the word North India is not very well defined. For some, anything that is not south is north.
In any case, I agree that rest of India has lots of talent. For example, Majul Bhargava is neither Bengali, nor Tamil. But the downside is that he was born, raised and worked in Canada.
Today is his Birthday. Happy Birthday!
@ Great,
In nutshell every states and group of people in India had their on contribution but certain forms were born in a particular region. Manjul Bhargava is still and Indian Origin, He didn’t change his name, see it that way. North, west , east, north east states are all well defined, I wish that if we could take out the differences and see India as one. That is all I have to say my friend on Manjul Bhargava’s Birthday…..
