Why is that? you don't think your apathy is to blame? complaining on the DM does not keep your society strong, nor does making excuses for not doing anything. I think you will find that most Brits are extremely patriotic, but we are a fairly undemonstrative people so tend not to show it. The fact that it is pretty much frowned upon to wave our flag doesn't help. I quite envy the yanks for the simple fact that most of them have a flagpole in their garden - and use it!UlyaReply toUlya
@ nearlysixty - do I assume that is your age? if so then maybe that explain your view? you grew up in a time when Britain was still Great and it was normal to think of yourself and be proud of being British? I am 25, many of my English friends the same age, and many think of themselves as English simply because that is where they are born, but don't see past that, but many also voted ín', maybe that explain it? sorry I don't have answers only questions. Ironically the biggest cause of increased use of resources is the requirement for recycling causing us to produce products with an extremely short lifespan as the recycled materials are inconsistent quality. This makes for premature just out of guarantee failure to be a common occurrence now. I have just thrown a £100 camera because a tiny plastic tab that keeps the battery compartment shut failed and replacement is more than a new camera. A look under a microscope shows a different plastic seam where the failure occurred showing some recycled material was used.moonlightshadowReply todjconrad818

It's nothing worse than the world deserves, we've destroyed our planet with the intention of getting one up on our neighbours and are quite happy to see others suffer whilst sneering at them, I reckon we are going to get our just dessert'sfok off
I blame yachts - having to have a bigger yacht with a bigger helicopter pad has sucked philanthropy out of the system into personal wealth gain. That gain has become blinkered with only eyes on one short sighted goal a better yacht than anyone else. The sysmbol of the worlds elite is dragging us all down with it评论
