Hawking takes himself too seriously, these days.

The way that it works is that if you don't announce something outrageous at your talk or conference then you don't get media attention. And that is the lifeblood of funding. The global warming scam works exactly the same way

I'll worry about it nearer to the time.

Just because we're told Hawkins is clever, it doesn't mean we have to believe it. Some people still believe the EU is working in our interests, but most of the public have realised that the self serving politicians and academics are actually pretty stupid.

A scientist's level of celebrity is inversely proportionate to their level of common sense.

We humans are the most likely cause of our own annihilation. Life has existed on Earth for more than 3 billion years and humans are trashing a large fraction of the life that has evolved on this planet - maybe we will hit the jackpot and kill all life. We couldn't have made a better effort if that was our plan!

Until we stop fighting and killing each other, we are of no use to the powers that be in the universe! We have a long way to evolve into that human. Buddhists believe in seven universe's, makes me wonder which of the seven we live in!

He is wrong, barring some cataclismic event like a huge asteroid hitting the planet. The threats that he lists may well decimate the population but humans are resourceful and some will survive and find ways to overcome whatever is threatening them.

Nine tenths of the people in this country are useless at doing practical tasks !Too long behind desks, and not enough skilled manual workers have been created to fill this void. We are stuffed !!!!!!!!!!!
