He should tell his elite mates to end their crony capitalism and restore free market capitalism if he cares so much about greed.

Hawking, another highly intelligent halfwit.I want my country back, and I will have it, no matter what.We will fight the enemy on the beaches and in the Large Hadron Thingy. We will never surrender.Hawking has my permission 2p off.

If I was as clever as he's supposed to be I'd have devoted my life to finding a cure for motor neurone disease.

How low can you go? I assume that you don't agree with his perspective and in response you resort to this as your comment.

Stick to physics and astronomy - you know, the things you actually know something about - and spare us the laughably ignorant Marxist diatribes.

Hawking is a leftist, and leftism can make the smartest people, stupid.

He a remainer and with the greatest respect has a computer strapped to his wheelchair so of course he's going to know some stuff, the computer can't teach common sense though and he's changed since he's developed an American accent.

I bet those words made sense when they were in your head.

Yes. They also make sense now that they are out of my head too.

If it wasn't for the highly 'inequitable' division of wealth, and his ability to command far more than his fair share of the Earth's resources, Hawking wouldn't stay alive for a single day. I can't stand his canting tone.

I'm tired of this guy, he's become a 'fictional' scientist who keeps talking nonsense, how about you spread some of your wealth?

He has spread some of his wealth. He has a charitable foundation in his name. I'd wager he has spread a higher proportion of his wealth than you.

Stick to science Ste. You obviously don't live in the world most of the rest of the population does. And take your communism with you

What a STUPID comment. If you came face to face with Jesus Christ you would call him a hippy communist trouble maker.

Speaking in capitals DOESN'T make your pint any more valid. If I came face to face with you Dave I'd call you a stinking commie.

Hawking doesn't believe in Christ, he makes up fantasy so he doesn't have to, imaginary time and multiple universes, I nearly wrote you couldn't make it up, but apparently you can, and it's believed.

So, so very tired of famous scientists acting like they are experts in every field, whether it be philosophy or economics or whatever. The ONLY way to eliminate income inequality is to make everyone poor...except for the ruling class politburo masters who will be fabulously wealthy...funny how that works. But, anyway, stick to physics, Stephen. Seriously.

So true, he wants to be the great philosopher of our time and in our time it's hip to talk this way.

I thought the establishment said we were all going to be poor because of Brexit, and yet we still voted for it. Now we are greedy because of Brexit, because we wanted our independence and control over our own small island? A modest bit of land, and yet we are the greedy ones? Absurd. Don't blame the glove puppet Hawking, he doesn't pick the words that come our of his computer. See this this video "Stephen Hawking is a lie system puppet (Lesta 2015-05-22)" and watch the spectacle of him being fed but not eating.

He's not saying people voted to leave the EU because they are greedy, he's saying it's greed and inequality that has led to poorer people wanting to change things by leaving the EU.

if we took everyones money and property, made everything "fair" and allocated everyone the same starting cash. there would still be a "one percent" to emerge soon after, as this is just the fact that some people are more hardworking, entreupeneruial or intelligent than others.
