I guess anything could wipe out humans - meteor, war, gamma ray burst, disease. I don't worry about it. And if you go to space, you have to find an uninhabited planet. I'm guessing you wouldn't be real welcome into another society.

I doubt that the human race will last a hundred years let alone a thousand. War or antibiotic resistant bugs will see to that.
