I wanted to have a home birth (even had the birthing pool set up!), but last minute I couldn't (was at a friends when I went into labour, hospital was closer than home). Had I not been in a hospital, my son would have died. The thing we must remember is, in cave-man times it may have been a nicer experience to give birth, but it also resulted in a lot more deaths. Take the science, take the help, take the support... for your babies sake.UsOco
Never heard of brain eating amoebas. I can not even count the problems or infection that I am sure followed.betty 84
All my births were c-section unfortunately (not my choice) i would of loved to experience natural labour in a hospital or a rainforest! Her choice, though not sure i would share it with the world but im glad there both well.rita
no matter where you give birth - the procedure is always the same, so where is the point? Why does this woman feel the need to exhibit herself in such an intimate situation. She as a grown woman, is free to put herself in danger by not having anybody to assist her but did she ever think about putting her baby at risk? This "back-to-the -roots"-phenomenon is a trendy game nowadays but let something go wrong and those idiots are the first to sue anyone they can blame for their own stupidity. Filming the birth and posting it on youtube is doesn´t fit her taste for "all natural and ancient", does it?jac163
I watched the video on YouTube, and while I applaud her efforts to give birth in such conditions, it would have been far safer for her and her baby to have had a midwife in attendance. I was rather tickled by the other people playing in the river not taking a blind bit of notice of Her!
