United States to adopt bison as national mammal

The buffalo have a better purpose than the 3000 death row inmates in the US prisons.

Is this what the elected officials dwell and legislate on when were $19 Trillion in debt.

Just so I can get my buffalo burgers, I'm OK with it.

I would rather see the bison on the 20 dollar bill than tub man although the similarities are striking!

Now if we can get congress to be so cooperative on a single national issue, we be in business.

Wow! Our House of Reps actually did something productive.

I didn't know we needed a national mammal. Finally, Congress has done something! (If Obama had backed the bison, Congress would have chosen the grizzly bear.)

I'd prefer our national animal to be a predator, rather than prey. A bear, cougar, wolf or something. When I see bison, I see barbecue, burgers, boots, belts and maybe a jacket or two.

I saw a tv show where a man kept a buffalo as a pet. The buffalo walked through his house and rode in the back of his truck during a parade. The scenario io made me sick to my stomach.

It's about time. Now, if we could only get the government to stop killing them.

What is wrong with this country, should have been this a long time ago, probably has to do with the meat, sad.

Excellent, excellent idea. I've often wondered why we should not recognize this beautiful, iconic animal for what it is.

This is almost as important as abolishing the sales tax on tampons.

Considering the state of our country I vote for Caitlyn Jenner as our national symbol.

Very apropos, an animal so stupid it allowed hunters to shoot them in stands by the hundreds before they got the hint it might be a good time to move on.

Our tax dollars at work. I am glad that our crackerjack Congress passed this momentous and important legislation since there is no crime, the world is at total peace, and there is no poverty.

What do the Indians have to say about that? Isn't this a symbol of Indian destruction? It's kind of like a follower of Jesus wearing his death instrument of the cross around their neck. Very strange indeed.

There you go again making reference to the American Indians as native Americans. Listen all of us who were born in this country are native Americans. If you would have done any research you would know that they prefer to be called American Indians. The federal government did a survey to find out how they would like to be called. And the majority said we want to be called American Indians. Have you ever heard of The Bureau of Indian Affairs?
