Sampan says that one can go to the US Supreme Court to question the decision of IEEE. Let me make something clear once more. The US Supreme Court is a national institution whereas the IEE is international. A national institution can’t have any sanctions on an international institution. To understand the idiocy here one doesn’t even need to be a lawyer. There is not a court like World Supreme Court. Secondly any institution in the world can give any prize to anyone. You can’t accuse the institution for having given the prize. But the reverse is true. If the Indians want to be proud of Bose they should go to the US Supreme Court and prove that he was the inventor of radio before Tesla. There are lots of stupid stories in the internet like that Tesla invented many other things but didn’t register his patents. Possibly the same goes true for Bose. If you see the patents you need to believe otherwise you don’t need to believe anything. We have got bored of your so called inventor. If you have any claim about Bose go to the court or don’t repeat the same garbage here.

this is another garbage cause no one pays any attention to your findings or what is written on any wikipedia.Actually there were 8-10 persons who were working on radio but it was Bose who showed experimental radio in 1895 well before Marconi.Tesla did some elementary work in 1893 but he never showed experimental radio because his dream was even bigger-Wardenclyffe project which was dedicated for world wide transmission of power,not Radio.

US Supreme court did void some patents of Marconi and named it in favor of Stone,Lodge or Tesla but they never declared Tesla as the inventor of Radio.even Tesla himself never claimed that he invented experimental radio but he just said"Marconi is using 17 of my patents”.

Now Bose had no connection with Tesla or anybody,he just showed experimental radio working in his own laboratory and in 1896-97 he showed an iron mercury coherer with a telephone detector in front of Royal society audience which was later used by Marconi.

Now when Bose showed his invention,neither Tesla nor anybody else in the world could show such experimental invention which is why IEEE has given the credit to Bose although in my last post(900) I said that IEEE has declared all 3 of Bose,Marconi,Tesla and even Popov as father of radio.Since Bose was the first one to show experimental radio in the world,hence he should be considered as Father of Radio.

For more details one has to subscribe all IEEE publications on Bose(not only that 27 pages historical paper) but if you search on some worthless books or biography then you will forever remain in that second group of 99.5% dull head,not in that elite 0.05% group.

You seem to believe so much in the history. The history is full of lies, it is written by the winners. Tesla is best known for his invention of alternating current but in the cult of Nikola Tesla the author claims that he was not the inventor of AC. Let’s say it is true. So could you please explain to me why I should believe anything else? Is it so difficult for the Indians to apply for the US Supreme Court to prove it? Or do they not trust themselves much? However Tesla was not the man with the most lies in the history, it was Sidis. There is nothing true about his biography except that he entered Harvard at 11. He is not just a professor. If he doesn’t know anything about Bose it means he is a person of NOTHING!

Tesla is best known for his invention of alternating current. His battle with Edison is known as AC-DC wars. If Tesla didn’t invent AC (according to the author of Cult of Nikola Tesla) then it means all those stories with Edison have been fabricated from different sources. This is also possible as many stories (as if they verify each other) have been fabricated in the history. The Indians have double standard. While they accuse Tesla they also expect the others to believe the stories about Bose. What IEEE published as 27 pages is not a LEGAL source. If you apply for the US Supreme Court they will ask you why IEEE didn’t reward Bose 100 years ago but now. They will ask what the proof that the experimental radio (if it existed) worked was. As you have no idea about how the court works you are just an AMATEUR to me. After 100 years you can’t prove anything for the patent of radio.
And also more than 99.99 % of the people in the US and Europe have never heard of Bose. To check this find the e-mails of the scientists in my post 965 and ask them. I think some of them (if not all) will reply back to you. Forget about the ordinary people even the researchers working in technology don’t know him.

As far as name and popularity goes I must tell you an incident in UK which gave me a minor heart attack when I first read about it.

In 2012 a survey happened in UK where 33% British students said “Einstein is the person who does one reality show in TV” when they were asked about who is Einstein.If Einstein had such a tragic fate then it is not surprising why 99.9% American have not heard the name of J.C Bose,specially when the honor was conferred upon him very recently by IEEE.

In fact most of the American knows the name of Amar Bose,who is not a foot note compared to J.C Bose but they are not aware of J.C Bose.In our childhood days we all knew the name of J.C Bose for his pioneering work in plant biology but we never heard the name of Amar Bose although he is popular name here in US.The logic is Amar Bose had no connection with Kolkata as he was born in US and same logic can be applied for American also and I don’t blame anyone of you for that.But remember one thing science and invention is restricted only for small percentage of people of this planet,not for everyone.

When Time magazine asked people to vote for greatest person of the century here in US,the result came out to be Elvis Presley(if my memory is correct),but considering the fact most of the people don’t understand the works of Einstein,they turned down the public decision and voted for Einstein.Almost 99.99999..% American had no clue about Tesla at that time but he has established his legacy among current generation of learned American guys.

Similarly if you think only Indian cares about Bose then it’s another misconception because I can tell you even some of the top Physics professors of India’s top technical institutes have no clue how radio was invented and what were the areas of Bose’s work.

And one more thing-J.C Bose had nothing to do with Electrical engineering but his works had much to do with electronics,diode which has direct connection with Computer science.

Similarly Tesla had nothing to do with Computer science and he has no contribution with modern day computer but he has enough contribution in Electrical engineering and electricity.

Now if you ask any electrical Professor they are not aware about solid state or semiconductor physics,electronics etc.

Regarding court I can ask the same question why Tesla,Lodge and Stone went to US Supreme court in 1943 when Marconi was declared father of solid state physics in 1901.Why Tesla did not challenge Marconi at that time.What others were doing at that time?Why US supreme court cancelled Tesla’s initial appeal in the year 1909 when Nobel prize was conferred upon Braun and Marconi?Why Us supreme court at that time did not reverse the decision in favor of Tesla?Then why they they void some of the patents of Marconi in name of Lodge,stone or Tesla 34 years later in 1943?Do you have any answers to these questions?

If the answer is no then restrict yourself in solving Economics questions,don’t even step forward on topics about which you have no knowledge/understanding?

Second, the question you asked proves how much ignorant you really are about the life of Tesla. Tesla applied for the court immediately when Marconi was rewarded with the Nobel Prize however the court CONTINUED YEARS and gave its final decision after the death of Tesla. You have no chance to accuse Tesla but I don’t know the other 2 persons. Third, I don’t need to know physics. You, Indians need to persuade the court for granting patent. You don’t understand the fact that what IEEE published has no LEGAL VALIDITY! It is possible to fabricate any kind of story as if one invented something but didn’t register his patent.

Tesla wouldn’t be able to go to the court in 1943 because he was dead then. It is already ridiculous enough for an institution like IEEE to reward a dead person after more than 100 years. I have never heard of something similar but if the Swedish Royal Academy gave the Nobel Prize to Bose after 100 years it would be as funny as what IEEE has done. If the Indians apply for the Supreme Court for any claim for the patent of radio I have no doubt that the court will continue tens of years without any conclusion. If you are curious about this subject ask any lawyer in the US who is expert on these subjects. The Swedish Royal Academy gives Nobel Prizes (and Fields Medals) in certain areas, not in every subject. It is somewhat political. Ask this to Jonathan M. Kane or Janet Mertz. They know many winners. The Swedish Academy had to duty to give the prize in the area of radio physics. But if it gave the Nobel Prize to Marconi accepting him as the inventor of radio then it should have preferred to give it to Bose (if he was the real inventor, not Marconi). If IEEE accepts Bose as the real inventor then it means IEEE legally thinks that the Swedish Royal Academy was wrong to accept Marconi as the inventor. IEEE is an institution whereas the Swedish Royal Academy is another institution. As there are lots of mistakes about the recordings in the history it is normal that any organization may fail to give the right decision. That is why I don’t trust the history much. What is the physical evidence that IEEE was right but not the Swedish Royal Academy? That Bose couldn’t win the Nobel Prize doesn’t prove that he was not the inventor but that he couldn’t win the Nobel Prize in radio physics proves that he really wasn’t the inventor. If Bose’s experimental radio worked (if it was not a fabricated story from different sources) then why didn’t the Academy give the prize to Bose, not to Marconi? And lastly, you had better discuss this subject with an expert lawyer in patents, not with a physicist or an economist like me. You can’t prove anything at the court. That is why you, Indians try to jump on the suspicious document of IEEE which has no legality. It is also possible that IEEE and the Swedish Royal Academy could both be wrong. They both are not as reliable as the Patent Offices and the court decisions. No one can sue the Swedish Royal Academy as it thought that the inventor was Marconi, not Tesla. But the Supreme Court didn’t take into account what the Academy thought. Same goes for the IEEE. The Court has no duty to take into account what IEEE published and won’t.

I didn’t mean that the Swedish Academy also gives the Field Medals in math but I tried to say that it is also political like the Nobel.

If you studied electrical engineering, no you can’t know anything. That you have knowledge about radio physics proves only your graduation, not your IQ.
