Many atheists in these comments seem so hell bent on insulting anyone who doesn't see things their way. It's as if being an atheist they THINK it shows they are intelligent, mature and decent. Sounds rather fanatical to me. How ironic...FrancisWalsinghamReply toThunder Thighs
Far from it. We simply struggle to understand why any adult would hang on to their cot blanket. It's not about intelligence, it IS about maturity and rationality. Decency? Ask a priest about decency when he is eyeing up his next choir boy. You lot - ironically - are in no position to preach about ethics or morals.greenyReply toThunder Thighs
As A Bishop of a supposed "invisible Being" in the sky, might one suggest the "Atheists" redefine their ideas about "being intelligent" and that those of us who they regard as "childish and not grown ups". How else can one explain life and its complexity? Why do we need "intelligence" at all. Most animals have nothing like the brains we do. Go on try thinking for a change instead of just making assumptions? Feelings are not logic but emotions. Just because one cannot see something does not mean it does not exist. Try thinking about that perhaps? We cannot see particles (nuclear) but they exist. The Hadron Collider has show some really strange physics. Time and space are not what you think they are. No children you are the infantile ones. ...mrmark1977Reply toThunder Thighs
@roscoe2-spokane: "The fool has said in his heart there is no God"That's just a typical parrotted Christian line that shoots itself in the foot. You actually replied to a comment about Athesit insults, by using a christian insult - that those who don't believe in God are idiots. And the idea of it is stupid - I mean, God creates a fool, someone who can't think clearly, and then punishes them for it? What kind of sicko is he?Tifa LockheartReply toThunder Thighs
However strong the insults from atheists may be they PALE in comparison to "You will go to hell & burn forever" if you ACTUALLY believe in ACTUAL hell then that is a shocking & abhorrent thing to say to someone. So either a great many believers are thoroughly nasty people or they don't actually believe what they claim to.Dropped
Religion is the source of almost everything bad in our world currently. Dreamt up by those 1000s of years ago before we had the sciences to explain matters.Zulus1000s of em
All religions are a waste of time just a fantasy . I have more chance of proving aliens exist than a godHarrys Back
to believe in God or the creator you dont need ANY religion...they are only for control and to help keep you as a scared slave of the systemsmithdog
Intelligent people realise that there is no such thing as a "god". As people have said on here, religion was invented to control the masses. Unfortunately there is one that is a dichotomy, it controls, yet it does not and is stuck in the dark ages. The Bible should be treated as a history book with some sensible thoughts on which our Laws are based upon.RichardReply tosmithdog
That's fine until you look at what the Bible says. In Matthew it says "seek and you will find" and that is where your argument falls apart. You see you can know Jesus, enjoy a personal relationship with Him because He died on the cross for all humanity. I have found Him, He is my saviour and I want people to know the truth. Intelligent people are not arrogant believing there is no such thing as God, they seek Him and the good news is when you seek you will find.Miss Floribunda Rose
Why are religious persons so materialistic? Why do they concern themselves with social status? Why do they fear death? Why do they feel such animosity towards unbelievers? Why do they concern themselves to such an extent with the things of this world--a world which should mean little or nothing to them? If religion is true, why is its truth not plainly apparent and visible to all thinking beings? Why have I run out of pink gin? There was a bottle in my hand just half an hour ago. Questions, questions, questions--and no answers.gchump
Excellent news. No lets become secular and kick primitive superstitions out of societynoodles10
The decline of Christian identity is tied to the decline of British national identity, which is directly linked to not caring about Britain's he'ritage and being apathetic towards Is'lam taking over.Itsmyopinion.
Hopefully it is the beginning of the long road to world peace, because let's face it, world peace is only achievable once all religion has been abolished.keith 62 norwichReply toItsmyopinion.
wishful thinking my friend some faiths are not peace loving and plan to dominate the world they cannot be negotiated with becauce unless your with them you are the enemy to be destroyed and enslaved ;; Do you not see or take notice of whats happening in the middle east ;; Europe and the EU has never been in a more perilous position since 1945 with the shift of millions of people and no idea of who and what they are imagine europe in 10 years with large influxes of people demanding their own wayIsabella_Jackman
The multi-kulti version of Religious Education that has been taught in schools since about the early 80s is finally having the effect that its left wing architects sought - to get rid of one of British society's biggest stabilising and civilising influences. We are a civilisation on the decline - and is§1äm is poised to rush in to fill the gap. Atheists still naively believe they will have the luxury of choice.
